Only story mode works
Unable to play GTA Online due to BattlEye. Plus, the game itself is very poorly optimized, I get only 90 FPS with a RX 7800 XT (CPU/GPU usage is very low)... 10+ years after the release of the game.
It just works. I get 165 FPS (my monitor's refresh rate) in 1440p.
I was able to play the story/solo mode. However, I didn't test the local multiplayer nor any other Proton version.
In the Native version, I got a black bar at the bottom of the screen and the mouse is shifted up to its height.

Thus, I recommand to use Proton instead of the native version. No problems with Proton so far. I get 120+ FPS in 1440p with Proton.
