Installs but then gets stuck at "launching".

Game installs fine, but then refuses to launch. The steam launch page shows "launching", then changes to "running", but the game never actually launches. No sounds either. Tried several launch options, and no launch options as well. Used to work fine about a year back.
Lower texture pool size to "High". Leaving it at Ultra Nightmare or Nightmare seems to throw a "Failed to Allocate Memory" error in Linux. Everything else, including Ray Tracing, can be maxed out without any issues.
You absolute need to have Nvidia driver version 510.xx installed. I tried running the game with driver version 450.xx and the game won't even launch. It throws a warning saying "Updated Drivers Needed", and recommends at least version 497.xx or higher.
The only issue I encountered is that you need to use Nvidia driver version 497.xx or higher. Currently, Nvidia driver 460.xx and higher breaks screen brightness in many laptops, and this is a well known bug. So I am having to switch between drivers to play this game, because I don't want to leave the screen at full brightness all the time. This is NOT, however, a problem with the game per se. Just an unfortunate outcome of Nvidia's bad driver design.
Installed with proton 6.3.6, ran with Proton-6.15-GE-2. Works flawlessly, and way better than the terrible native version.

Expect some occasional stuttering here and there, but absolutely nothing major. And this is especially true considering the terrible choppiness and frame rate fluctuation you get with the native version. Glorious Eggroll's latest proton release mops the floor with the native version

The game installs and runs like a breeze with both default steamplay, as well as the highly regarded Glorious Eggroll (GE) versions. There is absolutely no graphical issues or bugs, performance is either on par or better than on Windows with Nvidia drivers. This is a testament to how far the proton tech has come in recent years!!!
Installed through Steam (Proton: 5.9-GE-8-ST) without any hiccups. On first try Uplay/Ubisoft Connect failed to launch, but restarting Steam fixed the issue. From thereon everything works supersmooth, with an average of 100-130 fps with all settings on Ultra on my Eurocom Sky X7C laptop (i709700KF + RTX 2080 @ 200 Watts). No graphical or audio issues whatsoever. Gameplay experience A++.
For some reason Microsoft .net framework installation pops up everytime I launch the game. But it does not cause any glitches or performance issues.
Works okay, as long as you don't mind occassional freezes, and some loss of performance relative to Windows. Usual ubisoft nonsense.
Regular framerates and occassional stuttering is observed with both proton experimental and G.E. 7.16 and 7.10. The average FPS also seems about 10-15 fps lower than when I originally played the game on Linux around the time it first came out.
Other than the two issues reported here the game runs perfectly. With all settings maxed out on my Clevo laptop I get around 140 fps.

Occasional stutters, lasting barely a second, plagues the gameplay intermittently.
Occasionally, changing graphics setting and trying to save the settings will crash the game. On reboot, most of the times the problem has solved itself. But it tends to recur once in a few weeks,

Occassional frame drops, especially right after booting up the game. Tends to smooth out with time, but the first 3-4 minutes are barely playable with frequent stuttering. However, after the first few minutes the game runs smooth, with 110-130 fps with all settings on ultra.
Once in a while you get kicked out of the server with message that there are too many users. Which, given the game's current state of playerbase, is hilarious.
Shader related stuff induces extreme stuttering for the first few minutes of gameplay. This smooths out and disappears completely wthin 3-4 minutes though, and afterwards it plays like butter. Although, the fps could go still higher considering the kind of graphics this game uses.
Connection issues, and shader related isssues during the first few minutes.... otherwise the game works like a charm. Shame Bethesda seems hell bent on ruining this franchise.
Overall, I would say the game deserves a gold rating at least. Once you get past the initial shader related issue there really is no major problem. I wish Betheeda would get their act together and pay attention to finalizing this game and giving it a proper release.
Installation, launch and gameplay is top-notch. I get around 140+ FPS on ULTRA. There is no fps drops, or graphical/audio glitches at all.

For some reason it launched windowed, and in 640p. But changing the options from settings fixes that. And subsequent launches are impeccable.
While the game plays buttery smooth, for some reason when trying to exit to Main Menu, it crashes almost everytime and has to be killed. This doesn't hamper gameplay, nor interfere with saves or progression. But it is, still, an annoyance.
Absolutely stunning experience, except for the crashes when exiting to main menu. This does not affect gameplay at all, just a minor bug. Won't interfere with saves, progression or anything like that. I remember playing this game a few months back, and this issue wasn't present at the time. So this might be resoved with future (or older) versions of proton.
Works out of the box, with absolutely no NPC audio issues whatsoever, under Proton-6.15-GE-2.
