Game claims to be Windows/macOS only, however I installed it natively on Linux. Every time I would launch it, it kicked me out of my desktop and put me back at the login screen. I forced it to install the Windows version using Proton and it worked fine.
Not sure if this is because of my card, however for some reason when I was playing this game my GPU made strange hissing noises. This is new behavior that I haven't experienced in other games.
Not as popular, but still runs nicely!
Private servers are available to play. The game runs nicely in proton without any changes! You'll notice a DNS error on startup, because whoever was running the main servers seems to have vanished.
Had to change Rendering Backend from OpenGL 3.1 to OpenGL 2.0 otherwise game wouldn't start
Game will not launch if Rendering backend is set to OpenGL 3.1 or XRender
I didn't have tearing which is an issue I have in most other games. Steam selects Proton 3.16-9 by default.
Runs great, Audio half works.
Audio Input not working
Audio works for chatting with other players, however the voice recognition doesn't work so Linux players need a Windows user to actually use Spirit Box, and Ouiji Board. I was able to use Spirit Box but it's hit or miss.
Easy to run, I didn't realize it wasn't native!
There were bugs, but they were the same on Windows and seemed to be fixed as the game was patched.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
I don't know what version "Proton-GE" is in Steam, however I had to manually set my proton version to "Proton-7.2-GE-2" to play this game. I did not try playing with default proton settings, generally Proton GE works better than default. The issue I was having was that when you see the hanging corpse (trying to avoid spoilers) the game would crash on interaction. If you have a similar issue, or know what I'm talking about, try changing your Proton version.
