Works perfectly out of the box now, but some adjustments on the config file is recommended to improve performance
set "com_maxfps" to a high value on the config file stored in the folder 'players' (200, 300 fps, etc.), it's a better experience than playing with the default locked 85 fps
Doesn't start
Steam Play does the first launch configuration on DirectX, but doesn't start. Maybe it's something DRM related that doesn't allow the game to start.
Game now launches, when in the past wouldn't start probably due to DRM protection, but is playable with a bad framerate.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Bad framerate, locked at 40 fps, my specs allows me something above 100 on Windows
Locked on a bad framerate, but it's definitely playable. Proton needs to do something to override this and the game will be 100% enjoyable.
Game is locked at 40 FPS, probably due to DRM protection
Playable with Proton Experimental. Great experience overall, but an improvement would be great.
Frame drop after switching planets (levels), some cutscenes doesn't play correctly.
Great experience overall, there's some room for an improvement to make it smoother, but the game is enjoyable at this state.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Gun shot sounds and other sound effects are a little bit out of sync, but nothing that bothers the gameplay
A little bit of spike lags, especially when Faith is in the elevator, but in the majority of the levels this is a rare problem.
Game doesn't launch, problems with DirectX11 dependencies
Even with the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% parameter on launch options as suggested by other users, I'm unable to play the game.
Runs perfectly, and maybe a better experience than Windows in the smoothness aspect
Go Windowed Fullscreen, going Fullscreen will make the game crash for some reason
Some decrease in frames per second, but playable
Some lags on wide parts of the open world map. Don't know if the game is badly optimized or if this is something proton related
Works fine and it's playable, but some optimization is needed.
Game loses framerate when changing levels, requiring a restart sometimes, and a little bit laggy on the outside part of the map (reduce quality on settings to improve framerate). Room for some optimization.
Playable with a low framerate. Vulkan-based version to be released (currently beta and with stability issues), will be a great improvement
Bad framerate and loading takes a while
After switching to an AMD GPU, Vulkan based version works perfectly. No spike lags, surprisingly smoother than Windows.
Works perfectly with Proton Experimental. Ignore the message box at the start about your hardware.
A little bit slower, but it doesn't hurts the experience, completely acceptable
