I couldn't believe how well this worked out of the box. Proton Experimental handled piping through the Origin client and launching the game, and it ran perfectly the first try.
Sometimes there are UI rendering bugs seen between matches, but they are also reported by my friends on Windows so it doesn't seem to be compatibility-related.
eval gamemoderun $(echo "%command%" | sed 's/Chivalry2Launcher.exe/TBL\/Binaries\/Win64\/Chivalry2-Win64-Shipping.exe/')
In multiplayer, mouse snapped to random coordinates repeatedly for a minute, but the issue went away after adjusting sensitivity.
Followed user Cy's excellent post and used the given launch options. Game launched and let me play the tutorial first try. However, EAC kept kicking me from multiplayer. Installing Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime in the Tools section of the Steam Library was required before I could stay connected for an entire match.
Broken on some distros after latest update
After the recent update that added a new map, something has changed that has broken this game on some (arch-based?) distros. I used to bypass the Chiv 2 launcher via the long command line given in many of these reports, but that no longer works. Anti-cheat detects that you have skipped the launcher and will not init, kicking you from games after a minute or so.
On my Bazzite installation with KDE Plasma 6, I can launch this game and play it with no parameters whatsoever. However, on my Garuda installation with Hyprland, I get the "failed to initialize dependencies" error. I have tried many different Proton versions and none have worked so far.
Disabled network connection to launch the game
Occasional frame stuttering
Unable to connect to multiplayer servers
Disable your network connection in order to get past the EAC check on startup.
As soon as the 2.3 update hit I found that my ping to every region server showed as 0ms, and I received a "region is currently unavailable" message if I tried to enter the matchmaking queue. Searched on the official Discord and found that this has been fixed in Proton Bleeding Edge:

Very poor framerates on all versions above 4.11.
Multiplayer would not work until running proton version 4.11.
protontricks 2310 win7
Poor framerates on either the intro videos or gameplay depending on Proton version used.
Alt-Tab out of Fullscreen or Borderless causes bizarre window behavior. Game worked best in Windowed mode which still used the full display.
Tried a few different Proton versions; on Experimental, both intro videos and gameplay is smooth.
Could not connect to a multiplayer server until using "protontricks 2310 win7".
Game crashes while quitting.
Proton Experimental + disabling Steam Overlay did the trick. It has run perfectly for hours except that it crashes while quitting, but that has not caused any real problems.
