Runs great! Even better than it did last year, no launch commands required!

gamemoderun %command%
Shadow artefacts
Always just default experimental so

Played through Heroic (EGS game). Runs perfectly, had to enable EOS when I wanted to play with friends. EOS not needed when queing alone.
Needed to enable Epic Online Service (EOS) in Heroic settings to be able to play with friends. I didn't need EOS when I was playing alone and matchmaking with randoms.
gamemoderun %command%
4k native. Epic preset. 110-140 fps average. There are no lag spikes which i did have on Windows. Tested on Fedora 42 Beta with 6.14 kernel.
gamemoderun %command%

runs with less lag spikes with proton GE

env -u SDL_VIDEODRIVER %command%
Without changing launch options you would get EAC error. The launch options will unset SDL_VIDEODRIVER env var. it is required because of wayland and/or SDL3 im not quite sure but it does fix it

Proton output: Failed to initialize dependencies
Doesn't work at all

Works out of the box
Multiplayer works!
Runs great

After about 1 hour, the game becomes very laggy. Not sure if this is a Windows bug too. After a restart, it works fine again.
For about 1 hour xD
Performance is bad
Huge performance difference from windows, linux configuration runs this game much worse.
Works OTB steam, but performance is much worse than windows. I tried using Lutris, and found a slightly better config with using gamemoderun, setting GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_PATH, using FeralGameMode, but nothing quite works as well as the windows-native runner. There seems to be some issues with the linux port. When trying to run the windows with proton version through lutris, it runs better in some ways, but overall is broken for linux and has tons of graphical issues. More work needs to be done on configuring this for linux.

gamemoderun %command%
Works perfectly

gamemoderun %command%
Mulitplayer does not work at all. I have tried different kind of proton and proton-ge versions, sometimes I have black screen where the menu should be, but when it runs fine, Multiplayer does not work because of EAC issues, where it could not initialize.
No eac bootstrapper. start the game via chivalry2launcher.exe

After a few minutes it drops from a high and stable performance to about 5 FPS.
Freezes the Steamdeck on exit.

gamemoderun %command%
Proton EAC Runtime
Freezes momentarily when friend joins party or when accepting invite. Steam hangs for a minute when first launching. Didn't happen on win11.
If you have trouble playing multiplayer download the proton EasyAntiCheat runtime from steam. You need this to not be kicked by the anti cheat.
gamemoderun %command%
anticheat EAC error without the launch parameters

Works OOTB
Gotta note that I specified "Use steam runtime" on the settings menu in Heroic. I don't think it's a big deal but it's worth noting

ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 %command%
48 FPS, medium-high settings, TAA high, AMD FidelityFX CAS via vkbasalt to deblur that TAA
gamemoderun %command%
Without gamemode the game ran at FPS or less on medium settings. With gamemode this changed to an average of 100 - 120 FPS.

gamemoderun %command%
Played a few matches so far, it runs great.
Just works!

"EOS AntiCheatClient Violation Detected."
"Type: No EAC BootStrapper. Message: Please, start the game via Chivalry2Launcher.exe"

Works perfectly out of the box
Didn't have to mess with settings or anything

Flawless Experience
Even DLSS worked

About -10 fps less than on Windows 11

I mean the game works and can be enjoyed, but I am getting around ~50% less FPS on Linux compared to Windows (90 FPS vs 180 FPS)
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Everything on epic, windows gives me 180 FPS while same settings on Linux give me 80-100 FPS. GPU utilization is lower on Linux.
Sometimes EAC error and kicked out of the match.
Game runs but significant performance degradation compared to Windows. This is running on DX12, DX11 has a lot of visual bugs.

It worked perfectly up until about a month ago. The game removes you after 15-20 seconds due to an anticheat error.
Anticheat removes you from the game after 15-20 seconds of gameplay.

Worked out of the box with RTX 2060 Super on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Some weak flickering - primarily visible outside of movement or other actions.
Game runs smoothly. Apart from some minor screen flickering, I see no difference between the Linux version and the Windows version of this game. No issues during startup, no problems with controls, audio or networking.

Slight delay
Game runs pretty well, but I experienced slight frame pacing issues compared to Windows. For casual play it runs pretty smooth.
No issues!
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
enable dx12 in ingame settings

Broken Launch
"Failed to initialize dependencies" shows up as an error message. This only occurs when I force the use of a compatibility tool. This used to work flawlessly!

With High resolution and this version of GE-Proton everything works very well. If using Proton-9.0.2 the game is crashing after some time
Very fun Game to play on Linux

Mouse would not lock to screen with Freesync enabled on monitor
Disable Freesync on monitor if you have issues with mouth locking on multimonitor setups.
Game worked perfectly, and the EAC runtime downloaded automatically. Might have actually ran better than on Windows.

Runs great!
Game runs great as long as you make sure to install all the right drivers and vulkaninfo shows your graphics card.

On Arch it was important that I ensure I had got the vulkan tools and ran vulkaninfo and it detected the correct graphics card. I have a setup that uses an EGPU so it was a bit more complicated but now it's working great!
