Unable to start the game at all
What happens
After about three hours of tinkering, trying options and settings suggested by other protondb reports, I gave up trying to run the game. In my logs, I can see a "GLIb-GObject-CRITICAL" error, causing the game to just shutdown. I can see the something starting up, a window opening that says "Preparing game", then it silently failing. Not sure whether the EA App or the game itself fails, to be honest.
Things tried
- Different versions of Proton (experimental, proton 9, proton 8, proton 9-GE)
- these launch options:
env OPENSSL_ia32cap=~0x20000000 %command%
- installed
d3dcompiler_47
andliberation font
with protontricks - edit the registry as suggested by this report
- tested in on both X and wayland (using Plasma and gamescope)
Summary
I could not get the game to run. I will try and research further, though.
Flawless! Did not encounter any bugs yet, everything worked so far.
I could not find any errors / bugs / problems while playing. Game works perfectly as far as I can tell.
Neither native version nor playing with Proton work
I tried around with various launch option combinations (-nojoy -novid -w 800 -h 600 -fullscreen
) without luck. Native version stops quickly after starting (I only see a black screen), launching with Proton (6.3-7) would like me to update Steam. Running with the STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFER_HOST_LIBRARIES
environment option did not work either. I run Fedora 35 KDE.
Runs as if it was native, an amazing experience! I have minor artifacts sometimes, but I attribute that to either my NVidia setup or the fact that the game is still in early access. Either way, not harming the fun I had.
Works great out of the box!
Some of the textures of elements on the belts disappear, but only visually
Played a 4-player game for several hours, without any issues.
Single player as well as multiplayer worked great for me, no issues that prevent(ed) me from enjoying the game!
