Launched the game... It goes directly to a gray full screen for maybe 2 seconds then quits out.
The game ran flawlessly including the videos and controller support so far, the little I've played
Proton-5.8-GE-1-MF GloriousEggroll
So I was able to launch this game with past versions of proton but I always had to tinker and mess around with launch options. Even after messing around with the launch options I still had a controller issue even with the past GloriousEggRoll 5.6. It was auto selecting something and stuck at the menu screen. However, this newest most recent version from GloriousEggRoll fixed the controller issue I was having! I also no longer need any launch options mentioned below with the .exe files. Right on!
Proton-5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
So I was able to run the game on either very high or high. It would always start out buttery smooth 60FPS +. About an hour in or less (More time with lower settings) the game would drop to 30FPS and then even 20 or worse
Memory would hog up to around 80% and then the frame drops happen
The game simply won't start at all...
The only feedback I received was a popup saying "Error Unfortunately the game has crashed. Do you want to help us fix the issue by sending a crash report?"
I can't play the game new or continue any longer.. It used to run buttery smooth a few months ago.
I'm not sure what changed. I have tried different versions of proton. GE etc.. The menus are good but I can't load a game or even start a new one. It just crashes
The game installs fine but is still borked with an upside down diagonal screen.. Strange that Collection 1 works so well...
FINALLY this game is fixed! I am happy to report that I ran all of the games with no slanted backwards upside down screen :)
In the classic cheesy cut-scenes there seemed to be a few seconds here or there of dropped audio. Not too shabby
The Custom Proton version I used was proton_tkg_6.2.r0.g3b5ea332.
I tested all of the games and all of the saves. PS5 controller works well. Everything is running Golden. Thanks for the new DXVK version! :)
The game was basically unplayable for me. The game launched fine but the gameplay was slow and stuttering
I used Proton-4.21-GE-2 From GloriousEggRoll as well as the mf-install on the wine prefix.
The game initially couldn't find my steam games until I manually transferred them from a Windows Build of Steam/Origin
Really bad stuttering and lag/framerate drops experienced mainly when circling the camera more than moving forward.
I used the widescreen youtube tutorial mentioned below as well as the interface mod mentioned below by "rkitover" The game works so well. It's great to play this game again! I have had zero crashes, and so far no noticeable bugs/issues.
For the interface adjustment mod go here as mentioned below... https://deadlystream.com/files/file/1159-kotor-high-resolution-menus/
Executed the same mentioned on gold markings below. The script worked wonderfully in regards to the newest version of FAudio here... https://github.com/Kron4ek/FAudio-Builds/releases/tag/eff8390 As mentioned, untar the recent version and set your path. The script did need wine installed so make sure wine outside of proton is installed so the script picks up on the 'winedump' command. Haven't used a controller but I'm sure it will work fine with that as well because other games do easily.
I tried multiple proton versions but no matter the version I used I could not see the mouse cursor. Unplayable
I could not see the mouse at all, only the results of it highlighting menus and clicking things /guessing
