Have significant performance problems,but maybe its due to my CPU,the game uses all 4 cores on 100% making cpu bottleneck,even in youtube i see videos in Windows with my cpu and gpu having some FPS problems.I had between 40-55 FPS in 'The Hostage' mission,but the next mission i was having like ~12-30 FPS,wow.
Sometimes when i start the game,the light of the game doesn't load,making all the light sources black,it happens rarely though.
There is partly stutter,maybe somewhat related to Proton because on Windows it doesn't happen,but it not annonying at all.
Looks like if you have NVIDIA card,the game runs fine but if you have an AMD card,you gonna have some problems (according to AMD people reporting here).
Although i don't use proton 4.11.8, I use the GloriousEggroll proton fork and I have 55-60 fps,only problem is vsync doesnt work with optimus-manager hybrid mode,but other than that its perfect.
I even used Lutris to install SAMP and i am able to play online with no problems at all.
You need to change a line in the config file before starting the game for the first time,then is all good.
Needed to use Proton GE 6.9 because Proton 6.3 Doesn't recognize my controller and Origin Acts weird,and I cannot use Proton GE 6.10 online because for some reason it breaks VSync and the game goes too fast (not in FPS) and the game disconnects because of desynchronization and it appears a message saying my game was too slow (on FPS).
The game refuses to start in fullscreen at start,you need to modify the config file localted in [Steam_Folder]/steam/steamapps/1328660/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Criterion Games/Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered/config.NFS11Save and edit DisplayMode from 0 to 1,to at least start the game in borderless mode,you can change to fullscreen when you are playing but next time you boot up it will refuse to start again.
Maybe can be my hardware or the game bad optimization,but even on Low settings the game sometimes goes from 45-60 fps in certain areas.
The game now runs absolutely fine now,60 FPS,just make sure to edit the config file at the start

Just wanted to update the report,Proton GE 6.9 had some problems but now with Proton 6.3.5 the game now runs smoothly
just make sure to edit the config file and you are good to go in:
[your_steam_folder]/steamapps/1328660/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Criterion Games/Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered/config.NFS11Save and change the value of DisplayMode from 0 to 1 to start the game in borderlessmode
Cutscenes don't work,leading to black screen
I cannot press anything to skip the cutscenes neither
Since the videos don't work we end in a black screen,many people will tell you to delete the videos but now is posible to have it working,we need some .dll to make work properly,in case you are interested here is a mini tutorial
Or just delete the videos like people said,is not too important to the game and looks like is only needed for TGAA1,TGAA2 doesn't have any videos cutscenes (at least not 1 and 2 chapters,i'm right now in chapter 3)
I installed the game via Lutris with UPlay,needed to install xact in winetricks and set the watch_dogs.exe in Windows XP to get sound.
Although i get sound,i still get crackling,what i do is to set PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 in the Enviroment Variables to get rid of the crackling by a little,still is there but not very noticiable at least.
Runs fine out of the box with Proton 6.3.7
There was a problem with my Switch Pro Controller with Steam Input,its make the game freezes every 2 seconds,disabling Steam Input for this game fix the issue for some reason.
Right now only is playable with Proton 6.3.7-rc
