Runs fairly well after shaders are cached. Not perfect by any means. Played a couple of rounds of multiplayer and while it's not the worst to play, I wouldn't choose to play it this way.
The only noticeable issue I saw was some slowness when upgrading health, armor or ammo. Runs perfectly for me at 1080p 60fps. There's a reason it's whitelisted.
Like many others have mentioned, add "bBackgroundMouse=1" to the control section of your Fallout4.ini in /steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Fallout4/Fallout4.ini
I also added xact and changed the audio driver to Pulse using winetricks (WINEPREFIX=/steamapps/compatdata/377160/pfx winetricks). After that, everything works perfectly! FPS is solid, sound works perfect! No issues!
I really wanted to give this game a Platinum, but the lights have some weird stutter to them ( mostly likely a vsync issue) and I managed to get the "it's me" pop-ups which also didn't display very well. Otherwise, this game runs perfectly! I saw no major issues!
The cut-scenes and animatronic interrogations do not work. Some of the sounds do not play, tutorial phone calls especially. Other than that the game runs well. If you knew what you were doing this could be playable, but if the animatronic collection is broken you won't be able to fully complete the game.
Solid. Game runs perfectly, 60fps at max. Controller support work out of the box. I experienced one crash (not sure why, seemed random) otherwise it seems native.
Game doesn't even attempt to launch. No popup window, nothing. Dies instantly.
Nearly identical to Windows. Some of the dialog advanced a little too quickly, but nothing major. That's the only difference I saw.
The game has a hard time launching. If you delete the logs ( ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/342200/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games/MechWarrior Online/ - wipe the whole folder ) you can get to the login page. I've logging in works and start to load the mechlab, but it crashes frequently. So you have to delete logs and try again. After about 20 tries or so, I was able to get into a game. From there the game runs perfectly! It's damn near native! As others have mentioned in the MWO forums ( https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/268847-running-the-game-on-ubuntu-steam-play/ ), user settings won't save and there are some other minor issues. If you try with enough, you can get a game or two in.
The game runs identically to how it does on Windows using GE. If you had both up on the same hardware, you wouldn't know the difference.

Have to press alt+enter to get into the complete fullscreen view, and then toggle the windowed/fullscreen mode to remove the cursor showing up along the borders of the screen
So here's the thing, the game runs perfectly. It's a matter of getting the real tone cable to show up in game. I've tried switching around the sound drivers to no avail. My guess is that if you could add the real tone cable to the list of devices in the winecfg, you might be able to work. I spent some time trying but didn't have any luck.
Runs perfectly. Installed lib32-mpg123. There are some weird texture glitches with the terrain but it's manageable and doesn't cause any issues. I would recommend OpenMW to anyone want to play.
Runs perfectly, had no crashes in the two hours I played. I did install lib32-mpg123.
The game runs perfecly, no issues after playing for a couple of hours. The thing is all the cut scenes after finishing a run do not play and the death animatronic voice lines do not play either. The only other thing I noticed was the old man consequences easter egg doesn't work correctly, the demonic sound doesn't play and you have to force close the game. I'm assuming any other easter eggs would also be missing or hidden as well. Other than that it works really well!
So happy to see this work in Proton! Like everyone mentioned, using D9vk is a must. I found it best to set antialiasing to x4, after that it runs almost flawlessly smooth. There's still some choppiness around aiming and firing, just holding down left click while panning the camera around causes the game to stutter. This does not happen with a steam controller using the mouse input. The biggest issue with mouse and keyboard is you can not shoot and aim at the same time, which ruins the fun of the chicago typewriter. Regardless, this is super playable, even in the mercenaries game mode.
