Official Proton versions either didn't detect Xbox gamepad or inputs were a mess in general. GloriousEggroll version detected Xbox gamepad seemlessly.
Game window flickers in specific rooms or during parts of specific cutscenes. Also can't alt-tab out of the game.
Day one experience is that game launches fine, but the performance given my hardware is less than ideal. Hoping updates remedy this.
20-30fps
Easy Anti Cheat: 'Launch Error: Failed to load the anti-cheat module.'
Utilizes Easy Anti Cheat and doesn't work with Proton Experimental or the latest 7.0 version. However the game allegedly works on the Steam Deck so an update to something may be required. Keep in mind this is launch day and if there was any popular new release a game developer may go out of their way to get working on Linux via Steam Proton, this would be it. Don't hold your breath though. I won't be.
If something changes for the better, I'll make an updated report.
Unable to launch game because of EAC: "Failed to create IGameClient instance!"
One week from launch and nothing has been seemingly changed to run the game on Steam. To be expected from a free game with less than good monetization.

To summarize:
1). Install 'Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime'
2). Remove/Rename 'MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe'
3). Create a config file detailed in the reddit post and add it to the directory.
The game in general works about as well on Linux so far compared to Windows, except for missing textures. Similar to Vermintide 2 you need to get past the launcher, and the above reddit article will help you step by step.
Crash rate not exclusive to Linux, but has gotten significantly better as of now.
The launcher functions enough to start the game without any editing of game files. Aside from the graphical issues, the game works about as well as it would on Windows.
Game won't launch past 'shader cache window' after recent update.
I've tried Proton Experimental and the most recent Glorious Eggroll and Proton builds. My friends on windows are having issues with the game as well. However in their case it's just a much longer wait on the same 'shader cache' window compared to just hanging on Linux.
I'm assuming this is just a temporary bug, and I'll update my report when/if the game is playable again in the future.
When launching the game and after pressing play on the linux version of the launcher the game will occasionally black screen before even reaching the intro credits or the spinning logo in the corner of the screen. When this happens i've had to stop the game from the Steam app and relaunch. Sometimes having to do so several times before it works properly. It's an issue I've encountered since launch, but once you're past that the game plays fine or about as well as it would on Windows.
Performs nearly the same compared to Win10. Tinkering is required for the launcher and you need to Host lobbies.
Hosting lobbies is seemingly required for multiplayer. Wasn't able to maintain a connection to other lobbies for more than a few minutes.
The game became playable on Linux very recently with the latest update to Proton Experimental. My first impressions are excellent, but will update my report if I encounter anything major after further testing.
For tinking, I'll direct everyone to the instructions given by user Lamdarer who reported earlier, and confirm that these steps work from my experince.
However I'll repeat them here to make sure they stay visible:
- Force Proton Experimental (you most likely also have to have the Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed from the steam tools in your libary)
- Select the temporary_launcher_workaround - Bypass Launcher Beta from within Steam
- Delete .../steamapps/compatdata/552500 (if it already exists)
- Verify game integrity
- Launch the Game, I had to replay the tutorial
- Now you are in the game, Host a lobby (Otherwise you will probably get a timeout during a usual quick match)
