cannot install origin
current proton doesn't work with origin. origin claims it cannot connect to internet. tried experimental proton and 5.13-5. tried 5.0-10 and it launches its install and installs fine, but it gets stuck in a loop. after it installs another origin window pops up but closes. then it states its installing vc++ which appears to install fine. after that the steam ready to play window goes away and it does nothing. but states i'm playing battlefield v. no origin window, no anything.
if i hit stop and hit play again, it goes to reinstall origin all over again. if i go back and try 5.13-5 or proton experimental it brings up origin just fine now. brings me to its login window but says origin has no internet. even though i clearly do.
as of right now, its not working at all.
Game worked for years now uttertly broken
Game ran great for years. Nearly all my game time is on Linux. Suddenly this past week the game just stopped working. Won't launch anymore. I tried proton experimental, proton 8 stable, proton-ge, i removed compdata, even removed the game and reinstalled it. Nothing works. It no longer can launch at all. I don't know if a new steam update caused this or game update, which i don't think becuase i can't recall seeing any new update. All i can recall was seeing a new steam update. It just sucks. All i want to do is play conan.
the game speed falling and needing to restart the game as a temporary fix doesn't offer a solid experience

after awhile, the performance degrades. game speed will fall to a point where you can't even more your character. usually happens after 30 minutes or so of game play. restarting the game fixes it until another 30 minutes or so passes. rinse and repeat.

outside the game performance degrading and needing to restart to temporary fix, the game runs well. it uses opengl so its an opengl to opengl translation. before the game speed drop, the game runs amazing.

creation club doesn't work (actually NO INTERNET WITH ANY GAME WORKS) with any proton version above "5.0-10." 5.13+ experimental including GE builds simply DO NOT work with anything internet related. at least for me for some odd reason.
i have to use 5.0-10 to have internet access with any game with proton. i don't know why.
the game just works extremely well.
i've been playing it for a year solely on linux. i am even now using the experimental branch with the new UE5 engine and its work extremely well with the new vulkan renderer. it already ran well with dx11 with dxvk prior too.
mod support on UE4 works great with the SMM appimage. mods don't work with UE5 yet (not even on windows but there are workarounds, which i am doing to get pak utility working).
overall it good. must buy. must play.

co-op works with my buddy (steam)
been playing this for about two years. mod support works great with the appimage satisfactory mod manager, game just installs and runs amazing. performance for me on amd hardware at least is practically the same as on windows. satisfactory has simply run amazing for me for these two years. i've bounced back and forth between vulkan and dx12 for awhile. vulkan has performed slightly better but the latest vkd3d has really bridge the gap. i honestly can't tell the difference anymore. right now i am using dx12 mode with vkd3d simply because the developers of satisfactory themselves stated they test dx12 more.
any crashing
the crashing i've gotten have been exceptionally rare, and on windows, i even got similar crashing. so i can't say anything is linux* things* exclusive. the game simply runs nearly flawless on linux.
cut scenes don't work. even with mf_install. lutris the outer worlds script causes the game to fail during load up and epic games store complains of failing dxsetup.exe. lutris epic games store standalone works just fine and the outer worlds loads up and plays well, but no cut scenes. even with it installing mf_install. manually installing mf_install and the other, mfinstallcab doesn't help. mfplat: native,builtin doesn't do anything either. nor placing mfplat.dll into, the outer worlds, director doesn't do anything.
games runs fine for me, from the limited time i've played at least OUTSIDE lack of ANY cut scenes.
game crashes with all proton versions i have tried. gives an error "unable to load: riftbreaker_dll_win_Release.dll"
game isn't working anymore.
regardless what proton version i've tried. from 5.13, proton 6.3, to proton ge 6.10. gives some dll error when trying to launch it.
