Runs acceptably out of the box.
Opening Fullscreen had a minor lag, but once it caught up, it worked great.
Launched OK, can't play
Game launched OK, but at at least 4x the resolution of my monitor. It was impossible to reasonably access the settings menu to change the resolution, and none of the referenced locations for configuration files existed on my system.
Servers went down at the start of 2021
This game is completely dead on disk, linux or no.

Without launch options game was unplayably laggy.
Works great with minimal configuration
The config tool opens on first launch. The only changes I made were: no brand intros, no intro movie, and some minor graphical tweaks like turning on shadow smoothing.
Runs better on linux
This game ran terribly on windows. On linux, it runs beautifully out of the box, including not having the obnoxious menu lag I experienced on windows.
Cannot load clear data from Cold Steel 1
Absolutely perfect all the way through
The game installed and loaded effortlessly, and gameplay wasn't negatively affected in any way that I noticed. All in all, 10/10, recommend for linux.
