Set the TDP down along with the framerate to 30, it will run similar to the vita ver.
game blackscreens whenever switching to windowed
Game has unstable framerates but its playable
Don't alter the display settings and it will all work fine.
Some small freezes would be from loading area to area, besides that everything else runs always 60 FPS. There's going to be some caves where there's an exaggerating amount of lighting which would cause small dips but overall the game felt really well.
From the small bits played it plays really well on the deck. Aside from the button icon issues and the crackling a small tweak can fix it.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60
Disabled Gyro
30 FPS cap
Changing protons will throw you an error saying that you need windows 10 to play the game. By clearing the compatibility data and reopening the game with the default proton provided by valve fixes this issue.
Use PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 to get rid of it
Steam deck doesnt show the icons, you need the xbox style community layout and steam input disabled if you want to be on the go
Don't ever change the proton.
Small blur or pixelated text overall
Audio problems if you're running GE 7-37
Started a save that's now two hours long, didn't suffer through crashes and when I moved to the GE version of proton it actually did have some audio cracks.
Testing it out with EAC and without EAC with two decks turn out to run completely different. One being able to pick up the same areas at 40-60 and the other struggling to hold itself, difference is the one struggling is able to play online.
The strongest and safest way to play this game with online will be installing this on your internal, making sure that Proton EAC is installed and on top of it you only need to run the basic proton that is being recommended. My configuration and this current report mostly talks about how I basically tried to go the other way around, by trying to play the game with GE which according to people in the discussions board say it works, doesn't work for me therefore trying to play the game multiplayer will give me integrity violations. My friend's SD having it in internal meanwhile works very well with online, but with huge performance problems. On my deck itself running through areas I'm always running medium and jumping between the 40-50, sometimes jumping to the 60s.
Being forced to having to install this game on your internal storage sounds very unnecessary, and this is the first time I hear that because you need to have the game installed on the internal then the online could work.
In my case i'm keeping it on my SD since I play only the campaign on the go, but that's a huge bummer for me.
The overall game itself runs full on 60 but there could be small slowdowns but it's not noticeable at all. The game has graphical glitches with only the environment effects off.
Graphical glitching when having particle effects on. Everything else put into the game runs amazing.
Everything seems to be running just fine. The Environment particles are now fixed, so it's running maxed out.
Environment particles are now on. Everything seems to be fine maxed out and on fullscreen.
5.0-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Super small stutter when booting up the game and throwing a special ability.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
L4 ended up being to hover and catch rings
Capped to 30 fps and turned shadows down
Small lighting flickers depending the stages being played. Dont know if its the game itself since it just came out.
Large stutters until changing launch options and turning shadows down
If you want to be patient and wait for the shaders to compile then it will be a little rough at first, overall the game runs and plays very well on the deck. Using the launch options managed to make the game run fine, will be checking the later GE versions and see if there's any difference later. The game's performance is also debatable. On the stages turning down settings could give you a smooth 60 but on the open world you could have a 30-50 depending how things go. You might as well cap it at 30 until there's an official verification.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Some menus are not shown or scaled properly.
Performance will obviously vary depending what settings you'll have.
heavy stutters if launch options not enabled
Game runs really well on low-medium, the most that the game would eat up would be through post-processing (must be kept on low). Combat would always cause dips, jumping puzzles would be a little annoying due to response times. Can still be tried and played.
Ocassional stutters when summoning abilities.
Besides the game running on a fair 30, the game runs, looks and plays very well. There's going to be stutters but you could alter the settings for it to run very well.
