Had a hard crash at the end of the prologue(seems like this is a rather common occurrence even on Win PCs). Solved this by using switching to Proton 6.3-8. Might not be a problem for everyone BTW, as it might be hardware-specific.
Minor hiccups while connecting & loading map. No issues during play.
players as toxic as when playing on Windows, 10/10
Perfectly playable.
Occasional slowdown but otherwise playable
Spontaneously switching into windowed fro mtime to time
occasional mouse lag
Ocasional slowdowns during gameplay
Apart from missing cutscenes due to required codecs beign unavailable with proton, the game runs perfectly.
Required video codecs are not available with proton so cutscenes are not rendering. It's not affecting gameplay or stability though.
Installs and runs but got stuck after failing to initialise the config file(game data).
Bad FPS drops when drifting. Careful racing without using drift or handbreak feel almost perfect but it's certainly far from being ok.
Changing proton version seems to reset player profile, stats & options.
FPS drops to single digits when drifting or using handbreak, likely due to corresponding dust/smoke particleFX.
Game is still in development and perfromance on Linux/Proton so far is very promissing, so let's wait and see.
Works well now, only occasional performance stutters which are barely noticeable.
Occasional hiccups when drifting, barely noticeable.
Would give proton performance it a solid 9/10 now.
Grass patches are stretched 2-3 times every now and them, leading to some odd looking articaftc. A bit annoying but nothing serious.
Slight slowdowns every now and then. Was worse initially, switchign to 6-3.8 helped to keep it at a minium to the point of being barely noticeable.
Had a couple of crashes, not sure if proton-related or expected for the game. There are seems to be reports of stability issues on the steam forum even by windows players.
A game itself is known for having issues so not sure to what extent proton makes it worse. It feels a bit rough but wouldn't say there are any deal breakers when playing on proton.
Video output freeses on most in-game views other that main bridge views making the game effectively unplayable.
Similar to other ProtonDB reports, game freeses during gameplay when switching to most views other than the main bridge view or in any options subscreen other than video options.
Runnable but, sadly, unplayable.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Plays well, no unexpected disconnects or lag.
Game launched with known bugs, stability and performance problems manifesting for many players on Windows. I haven't enperienced significant issues so considering the state of the game, it runs flawlessly on Proton/Linux. It seems to be hardware-dependant though, so YMMV.
