steam recommended launches the out-of-date linux version which I only figured out due to it not syncing the cloud saves. forced Proton compatibility is mandatory for this one
Crashes during intro sequence regardless of Proton version or graphical settings. Managed to get past the seasons but not the Forza Horizon 4 logo. Frame pacing wasn't good either. Others who got past this bit report crashes becoming more frequent a couple hours in. If you bought it on the sale that's on rn, refund if you can for now imo.
Refresh rate to 48hz, TDP limit to 11
Works fine with steam deck controls, but on occasion some kind of keyboard/mouse related input will start being received, forcing the game to show the PC mapping icons instead of the xbox controller ones. Rotating the camera in the character editor is also made more difficult by this bug. A game restart fixes this.
Game crashed once while changing resolutions. That however was my only crash during the first 5 hrs of gameplay.
Hovers around 40-50 fps for me (custom medium to high settings). Significantly more stable than Forza Horizon 4.
Fairly stable even at TDP limited to 3 watts (5-6 hr battery)
When launching youll be prompted with a classic windows style launcher. Set your resolution here and if you're on steam deck change the input method to xbox 360 controller.
I havent noticed any mismatch between on screen buttons and the controller.
As this is a ps2 era game all text ive seen so far is blown up and perfectly readable.
The only oddity about this game's performance I could find is that it's locked to 30 fps.
The EAC window frame shows up, but doesn't do anything. Hunt will not open.
Worked for a couple weeks on Experimental, then back to borked since 2022/07/10. You will be booted out of every match by EAC.
Otherwise, full controller support and about 120 fps on the steam deck. Felt quite competitive with other platforms.
Text size is tolerable, but map icons are the quite hard to see.
Despite having been marked as unsupported, works perfectly fine on my Deck. -Full controller support, don't need to use the cursor for anything. -20 hours in, no crashes or hangups so far. -In advanced display options, "Enable Quality Anti-Aliasing" is particularly expensive in this game so I recommend keeping it on Normal, it still looks pretty decent. -Pulls 50-60 FPS with most graphics settings set to Medium, TDP limited to 10W, GPU set to 1100 mHz, Boost disabled in PowerTools.
