Works well. Almost like on Windows
When you just get into the world, it is really laggy until everything loads. Doesn't happen on Windows
Works perfectly. No problems
Local multiplayer in Age of History II is done with one set of keyboard and mouse anyway, so this is no different from normal play.
Only when using PBR fix scripts and having a high end PC/playing on low settings to balance out the performance compared to Windows
Black PBR textures but can be fixed with a script
Had to use Proton 6.3-8 for Logitech G29 FFB (and remap all controls, defaults didn't work with G29)
Game runs much worse than it should (compared to Windows)
Runs amazingly with Proton Experimental bleeding edge. The PBR textures fix is not needed anymore.
Steering wheel FFB only works in Proton 6.3-8. There is probably a fix somewhere
Better Avg FPS than Windows (microstutters when crashing into a wall). Before this we had black textures and terrible performance in comparison with Windows. With Proton Experimental, this game is great to play on Linux.
Playing without AI is boring imo and you can't really use it on Linux as the performance drops a lot when you enable the AI
Steering wheel force feedback requires configuration (Set Update Type to Full and turn off Invert) to properly work and still makes no sense after
Only when enabling AI
A native Linux Port is in the works, but currently it's not a good experience due to long loading times and stability issues.
Just like playing this on Windows
Same problems as on Windows (lag when getting far)
Steam Overlay doesn't work
Works well
Works
Runs perfectly, also works well with my Logitech G29 (using new-lg4ff driver)
Runs well except for random 10 second long framedrops after moving a lot (maybe HDD). No online features.
Game flickers and tries to gain focus constantly if you ALT+TAB, so I had to exit fullscreen first using ALT+ENTER
Game runs normally most of the time, but sometimes slows down to extremely low FPS (~20) randomly. HDD issue?
