Black ops runs great with a little tinkering. New kernel or VM with PDS scheduler. and the mouse fix.
-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms
Mouse acceleration is weird in this game, windows user also have these issues. Therefore I added the -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms, due to a few other options not working. Bypassing the mouse doesn't work.
with these launch options it works great
running the game with a normal kernel is rather unplayable.
https://github.com/Frogging-Family/linux-tkg Installed tkg, with Project C / PDS & BMQ
With this the game runs great.
Server list isn't great, but there are crouch servers, nuketown 24/7 and a few anarchy servers.
Tried Proton-Next and Proton-GE-6
out of memory error after attempting to launch in "safe mode" Did not try the multiplayer at all
Works out of the box, perfectly. Encountered a single audio bug. Even mods work great!
A switch between singleplayer and multiplayer from singeplayer menu restulted in an ear tearing sound. Single issue I experienced
Proton-next
No cloud saves
Some buffering issues
Occational crashes in Proton GE, but so far none in proton-Next
Floating rocks, remove and re-add shader cache Shader cache has to load in background as it stucks if it tries on launch
Without tinkering it does not run, on Proton-GE it runs the best, but stability is an issue, common freeze crash
On Proton-Next it has some stuttering, but runs quite fine.
I run it in 4k, and I expected less performance than what I'm getting
Anti-alising turns itself on for no reason, still no idea about that..
I experienced less performance problems in Linux-LTE
Easy Anti Cheat stops you.
launching the game works great. Joining a server works, but when you are in the server you automtically will be pushed out.
Still borked. You might be able to play if there are servers that don't have anti-cheat.
At startup a small pop-up announces that easy anti cheat failed to load.
This means that you can join anything but you will be kicked from the game about 30 seconds in.
GPU supporting D3D_feature_level_12_0 or higher
Even with my 1080ti, which is above the minimum requirement it somehow think that the gpu is "not compatible".
I guess they somehow got steam deck verified due to a different gpu.
Tried with GE, experimental and 7.0.6. Maybe it'll work with some tinkering.
