Playable on low/medium settings with my 2060 using SteamVR Beta.
Needed to use this in combo with SteamVR beta to get VR working without any problems https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamVR-for-Linux/blob/master/README.md
90-100 FPS High Settings with my 2060.

Need to have steam Overlay disabled otherwise I could not get the game to load.
Space Engineers would not run unless changing the Proton version so setup was a bit of a pain. As a complete linux newcomer I just want to say to the others that it is a little bit of a pain to setup but afterwords all mods and plugins should load without a problem. I used Protontricks, Protonqt to download other Proton versions, and the Terminal.
Steps I took were as followed:
- Install Space Engineers
- Change Proton version to 5.0.-10
- Launch Game then exit
- Launch terminal and type protontricks 244850 --force dotnet48 faudio
- After terminal finishes its thing change Proton version to GE-Proton7-13
- Launch game to make sure its working *May get rundll32.exe error, if so click no to send. Game should launch anyways. Exit game again.
- Set launch options. I am using the Plugin Launcher so my launch options are -skipintro -plugin "......\workshop\content\244850\2407984968\RunPluginLoader"
- Profit
After the first rundll32.exe error I clicked no and then it never came back... I hope this helps someone.
Installed GE-Proton7.33, didn't need any launch options. Works great after shaders are finished compiling.
Hung up on intro. Had to disable Steam Overlay
