1.6 update broke game for me

I can load into the menu, I can see and hear the options interact with my cursor but when I click on load game, new game, or quit to OS nothing happens.
despite my 2 displays alspo being extended, the game is also mirrored, and selecting options when looking at either screen does not work, I also tried random spots across the UI and nothing.

Game no longer makes it past the start menu

I have tried to launch this game using a few of the proton veriations and the game will not make it past the start menu because the mouse cursor will not go down below the very top edge of the display. I have rebooted my PC, verified files, even unplugged and replugged in my mouse.
