Some textures in Road to Elite pop in and out in quick succession and then they don't for the rest of the cutscene.
It didn't start up at first. I assumed it was a proton issue unlike the other reports, so I started it up with Proton 8.0-2. It was slow to boot up, but outside of that, it runs perfectly.
Ray Tracing on, 486p w/FSR/Sharp, Low Graphics Settings
Default controller input wasn't working at first. Switched to a layout I made to add gyro, and that for some reason fixed it.
Yeah, turns out I forgot to delete the launch command that said to uninstall the Frame Gen Mod from when I had the Frame Gen Decky plugin. Runs great.
I tried the method from x9sim9 after switching back to SteamOS, but almost as if an omen fell upon me, the Deck crashed and restarted itself in the middle of the command process, and now I can no longer do said process. I found out Proton Experimental fixed the cutscenes from others here, but they failed to define it as "functional." Instead, I got audio desync, crackling, missing music, and occasionally slow cutscenes.
I think I'd rather get a ROG Ally X with Windows on it and just play the game on that than waste God knows how many days trying to get this to work on an OS that will never let it work. It's crazy how borked this thing is on here.
Got x9sim9's method to work through Proton 9.0 instead of 8.0
Not only do cutscenes work better with x9sim9's method, but with 9.0 instead of 8.0, but button icobs are showing up when using the official layout, too. I was pleasantly surprised.
Audio output switched from Speakers to "echo sink" or something like that. Could not switch it back.
Had to remap controls. Up & Dow were shown as Left & Right while Left & Right were shown as stick movement. B was also the default confirmation button.
No proton used, as for the 9 minutes I've spent on this so far, it runs perfectly right out of the box. Though I DID have to use a community layout to play it, and also I think the only language the characters speak is Russian or maybe Polish, which I guess makes sense cause this was released in Poland first, let alone only on PC. Just be prepared to start with inverted flight controls that feel REALLY sensitive and end with about 2-4 hours spent on it.
I'm honestly surprised the original trilogy can clock in at a total of only about 12 hours max.
It got stuck at 99% installed before the download speed went from mbps to going back and forth between bps and kbps. If you want to play it on the go that badly, best deal with the Switch version and hope it'll run better on the Switch 2.
I ended up installing the game on my Windows laptop to do a system transfer, but my install issues ended up happening on there, too. Though, it turns out I just needed to be patient, as it managed to fully install. Runs great with Proton 9.04
There was a bit of stuttering during the birthday party cutscene for the Sonic half of this game.
Only played for about 14 minutes, but it seems to work fine. I think the default graphics are a bit of a battery drainer, at least for the LCD Deck. Though, I don't remember what percentage my battery was at, so if I'm able to update once I start it again and see what the battery power remaining is, I'll do so.
Opening Cutscene after Green Hill Act 1 stuttered a bit.
Forgot that these can't be updated or removed...again...so this is to let you know that I played both acts of Chemical Plant Zone, and battery only went down 7-8% during thattike, so there's no major battery drain issue like I thought. Odd that it doesn't have an official rating yet, but I imagine they're waiting till Friday.
In certain menus such as the ones in MyFaction, the screen would glitch out like a CRT TV on its dying legs.
It runs right out of the box, but even at its lowest settings, it does not run well.
