Unstable performance
FPS were too unstable, mostly running at 15 FPS and occasionally returning to 60 FPS for only 3 seconds just to start the cycle anew.
Performs like a native game
This game used to perform poorly on my machine, I installed it again on a separate hard drive and it suddenly performed like it should. I tried the trick of the D:\ drive but it didn't work for me.
Rock solid 60 FPS. No problems at all.
Note: I was using Proton-6.1-GE-2. It will probably work just fine with regular proton.
As long as you don't plan on playing with mods installed, its very easy to set it up!
Very rarely the music completely vanishes
When you try to join another player's room which has mods installed, steam workshop WILL NOT install those mods automatically just as they do on Windows. You should ask the room's host to create a Workshop collection, subscribe to those mods and unsubscribe to all the previous mods you might have installed before and after that REINSTALL the game. Playing with mods in this game is a huge pain in the ass, but worth it once you manage to set it up. Disclaimer: Some mods may crash your game on windows and/or linux shrug
Better than native
The native version has a few issues that are solved once you try the windows version with proton, now I can play this game fullscreen and the disconnection of the controller doesn't crash my game
Poor FPS given my hardware (compared to the performance on Windows)
FPS were very unstable, I only got from 15 FPS to 50 FPS
FPS drop drastically if I change any graphic related settings. Must reinstall the game to make them disappear.
Go to the local game files folder, back up the file librt.so.1
(mv librt.so.1 librt.so.1.bak
) just in case and create a symlink to the same library located in /usr/lib
The command for that would be ln -s /usr/lib/librt.so.1 ./librt.so.1
If this doesn't work for you, restore the previous library by deleting the symlink and renaming librt.so.1.bak
back to librt.so.1
Some puzzles have behaviour glitches, I won't go into the details because that would be a spoiler.
Megapatch II works well right out of the box
However, the future version (Scopophobia) will completely BREAK the game, you won't be able to even get to the main menu.
