Smooth experience throughout even on older GPU. Lacks some texture details b/c of GPU RAM, barely noticeable at the game's normal pace.

Launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% +in_terminal 1 +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +com_skipSignInManager 1
Did not test without them for fear of being DRM banned and I only had the weekend.
Esync disabled because other reports said it broke with it.
Not sure +com_skipSigningManager
did anything, still had to sign in with Bethesda, not sure if that's what it's supposed to skip though.
Enabled terminal in case of debugging needs, never needed to use it.
Disabled intro videos just because they were annoying, but worked.
Changed /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
(or ~/.config/pulse/daemon.conf
) to include
resample-method = speex-float-5
default-sample-format = s24le
default-sample-rate = 48000
alternate-sample-rate = 44100
default-fragments = 2
default-fragment-size-msec = 125
and the crackling was gone.
Could Alt-Tab out, but not get back in. Using Enlightenment as WM, version 0.23.99.23783.
Steady 60fps with occasional brief dips to 50. One crash about 2/3 into the campaign in a way overcrowded/busy area - had to kill the WINE instance to get the game to launch again even after a Steam restart.
Got softlocked outside the terrain twice, and respawned in mid-air a couple of times, but those are probably not Linux specific.
Everything except the rain was black of running with FSR
Works surprisingly well despite the official statement that the deck isn't supported.
The game does not support higher screen resolutions and gets rendered fullscreen, a bit off center horizontally and with left/right black borders. Videos are glitchy or don't show, but sound works (ESC to skip works).
Surprisingly, https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33807 is no longer an issue with hardware acceleration.
Not horizontally centered.
GameGuard exits with error code 1015 since patch 1.000.400.
