Works like a charm on Proton 8.0-2. Some low framerates and hitching, though that may be bad release-version optimization.
Some lighting effects show their translucent polygon meshes. Very minor.
Some frame hits and hitching, hard to tell if it's optimization issues or translation issues.
Need to use Proton 8.0-2, anything else throws errors with the Paradox Launcher.
Odd, subtle artifacting sometimes on Cinnamon, very faint vertical lines. Occasionally while game is running, other desktops/workspaces may show a faint ghost image of the last frame of Arma 3 displayed.
Probably slower than Windows? I'm unsure because Arma 3 generally runs like crap on any OS.
I was able to get Arma 3 working with TFAR for ops with my unit. I wrote a guide available on the Steam discussion forums, linked below. I use arma3-unix-launcher and the Windows version of TeamSpeak 3 installed to the same prefix.

Music causes an intolerable level of crackling. Various Pipewire and Pulse tweaks not working for me. Don't even want to play it for now.
Extremely bad cracking when music is playing. Tried various changes, such as PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=100
, or tweaks to pipewire-pulse.conf
. Nothing is working. It's so distracting that I don't want to play.
Currently, too many extreme performance issues, even when turned to absolute lowest settings..
Significant audio crackling and dropping during heavy action.
Common whole-world texture re-pop-in. Extremely poor quality particle and texture effects.
Sluggish with no action. With action, huge FPS drops on lowest settings, significant stuttering.
Some server-side game drops which are in the process of being fixed.
Infrequent game drops due to server-side issues.
This game needs a lot of work for Proton compatibility. Comparable to Age of Wonders 4's initial launch state: Similar issues with low framerates, broken effects, audio crackling.

IMPORTANT FOR LINUX MINT: Go to "System Settings > General > Disable compositing for full-screen windows". ESSENTIAL to obtain good framerates. Works well in Fullscreen Borderless, I have a white border now but don't want to deal with Alt+Tab issues in Fullscreen mode. Other command line options are dubious, this one fixed the game completely for me.
EAC works flawlessly. Microphone input works flawlessly. Borderless mode works flawlessly. Excellent performance. Typically 90ish frames on RTX A5000 at 1440p, some minor settings turned down, but with 115% scaling and 8x AA.
