The game runs exactly the same as it does in Windows. There is a native client however so I guess there is no need to use this.
Audio was crackling on current Proton, but a restart fixed it and the issue has not returned.
Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
I had to install Proton-5.21-GE-1
Worked fine after disabling reflections from the launcher to address the flickering textures issue. In game radio worked as well with no tweaks needed.
Other than the input issue I had the game ran pretty much as good as it does for me on Windows. I plan to play on Linux from now on.
I am using Proton-5.21-GE-1
For some reason my mouse brings up the character menu and the only way to exit it is to press F1 which is the record button. This makes the game behave as it should. No idea what causes this, and it happens no matter what version of Proton I use.
The game ran perfectly with no launch options or other tweaks needed. I used mouse and keyboard.
The single player game ran the same as it does on Windows as far as I could tell.
The game does not load with cloud saves enabled using the Rockstar launcher. I had to copy my saves from my Windows partition to continue my game.
Had no issues at all running the game from a clean install. Same performance as on Windows within a frame or two.
