Everything works fine except multiplayer. It does not matter whether I use ProtonGE or Proton Experimental.
You can actually join a lobby but get kicked out as soon as the multiplayer match starts.
Everything works fine except multiplayer. It does not matter whether I use ProtonGE or Proton Experimental. I installed "steam linux runtime" and "proton EasyAntiCheat runtime". You can optionally increase the fps up to 120 by editing these two files in the same way as on windows :
- "/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/381210/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/DeadByDaylight/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor"
- "GameUserSettings.ini" in the same folder. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2395768799. Some people have claimed to have exceeded 120 FPS with different modifications but I have never tried and that does not interest me.
Gets kicked out.
As other mentioned, the Epic Games version is perfectly playable on Heroic Games Launcher, you can sync your progress between Steam and Epic Games with a BHVR account, and 120 fps is possible by editing some .ini files. If you want to Cross Progress, keep this in mind :
- You need to buy the base game twice for each platform, but DLCs will be synced.
- A platform can only be linked with a BHVR account once every 60 days.
- If you unmerge your data between a platform and BHVR, the progress of the platform will be reset to the moment you synced it like a snapshot --> TLDR : Merge your progress and never touch it again.
For my part, I will not give 20 dollars to cope with something that will potentially be fixed soon.
Everything seemed to work.
I do not know if there is a performance impact since my config is powerful and I got a consistent 118-120 fps. No tinkering is needed.
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Base\/Binaries\/Win64Steam\/CivilizationVI.exe'/" )
Everything works, for some reason, the resources overlay on tiles in game tend to disappear, but it is an extra 2 clicks so no big deal, not sure if it is a Linux thing.
You need to force proton experimental or GE and add launch options. Other modifications I have seen may break some online features like the "Internet (Unified PC Play)".
