Sadly completely unplayable using an Nvidia GPU
Crashes a little while after starting to drive; Setting graphics settings to the lowest possible, and even changing to GE/flipping some vkd3d settings does not resolve this.
Appears to be an issue with running the game on Nvidia.
The game runs basically exactly aa expected regardless of platform.
Final cutscene of the main game caused the game to crash, and hence made it impossible to start the game again. This seems to be a known bug even in Windows land.
I resorted to sending a friend my save game and letting them play the final cutscene, and then send the resulting save game back, after which everything was flawless again.
Early on, I would consistently fail to connect if a specific player was in a lobby, and vice-versa. This has since resolved, and I suspect is not caused by running the game on Linux but rather by bugs in the game.
Updater/installer will sometimes struggle, and load forever without showing a loading bar. After missing updates for a year or two, I had to reinstall the game to get it to update again.
Failed to fullscreen on first start, does not inhibit sleep on sway
Game tries its hardest to interfere with fullscreen, but is foiled by my window manager, resulting in odd movement of the window.
Very occasional matchmaking failures, these seem to be a problem with the game, however, as there are reports of this on non-Linux forums as well.
I'm a bit sad that it no longer works out of the box, Proton-GE seems required now.
