Launched but crashed almost immediately with proton experimental, had to switch to an older version. Tried different commands as well (stuff like gamemoderun %command%) and it didn't work. The older version of proton works pretty well, haven't noticed any bugs yet.
Removed FactoryGame\Content\Paks\FactoryGame-notWindows.pak
Ran into a TON of problems and tried all combinations, but the only one that worked was removing the FactoryGame-notWindows.pak file and verifying game integrity. Other than that, the game does work slower than it used to before (at around Update 4-5) on my hardware, but that shouldn't be an issue if you have better stuff. Running steam through the terminal helped me understand the problem and stuff, I highly recommend it if you run into issues as well.
