Game launches with flashing videos, everything else is black.
The game is running behind a black screen, when pressing Esc I can hear pause menu opening. Used -window parametr, different Proton versions, still black screen.
The game now runs without issues on the newest Proton.
The game works in fullscreen mode as well. Gamepad worked as well. No issues observed. I believe the low quality audio is part of the PC port and not a Proton issue.
Game installs fine, then opens a blank window and crashes immediately.
Tried every launch options listed here and different proton versions with no luck.

I was also able to install mods like widescreen patch and proper xinput mod. (Used winedlloverrides commands)
In game music does not work. It did work when I was testing it on Debian a couple months ago. Other than that, it is nearly flawless.
In game music is not working; however, ambient and other effects do work.
In order to get the music working you must run "protontricks 6900 dircetmusic" in terminal. If you are getting permision errors during install, you must then change the permision of particular files to read/write. The files are: dmband.dll, dmloader.dll, dmime.dll, dmsynth.dll, dmband.dll, dmstyle.dll, dmusic.dll, dmusic32.dll and dsound.dll. These files are located in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/6900/pfx/dosdevices/c:/windows/syswow64. After that the music will work quite well. Everything else works.
Game shows white lines during during. Fixed with dgVoodoo. I think, it happens on Windows as well.
The game works out of the box with the Glorious Eggroll proton "Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST". Used widescreen and xinput mods, then used WINEDLLOVERRIDES="R_D3D,Dinput,Dinput8,GCore,XInput1_3,D3D8,D3D9,D3DImm,DDraw=n,b" %command%, so the proper dlls get loaded for the mods to work, otherwise the game will crash.
To get past the start menu vcrun6 and vcrub6sp must be isntalled via protontricks. Then overide msvcrt.dll via winecfg or command.
It is required to install vcrun6 and vcrun6sp via protontricks. Then add msvcrt.dll override in wineconfig or as a launch command 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="msvcrt"=n,b" %command%'. Then the game will run but similary like Max Payne, another DirectX8 game, there is a color depth issue in the newest proton versions, so unbearable color banding is present everywhere. To fix that a D8toD9 wrapper is required, older proton or just use Proton-GE.

Game does not open. The process is running and the CPU is providing the grunt for it, but nothing really happens.
Game does not work and it does not throw an error code. Replacing .EXEs is not really a true fix; however it is a possible workaround albeit legally questionable. GOG and Steam are slightly different versions of the game.
Game wont start. Application load error (0x02).
It worked last week when I was testing Ubuntu. Installed it on Debian and the game sudenly does not work anymore. Thorws up application load error (0x02)
