Latest Update Seems to Have Broken Compatability
Even with removing LariLauncher and linking bg3.exe, can't launch the game
The fix for the "Watch Monitor" bug is fairly simple, even for people who aren't too familiar with the CLI.
Notorious "Watch Monitor" bug. See other reports on how to fix it. I did try it with the experimental branch of Proton, which did not work, ended up using 4.11, and it works perfectly with this version.
Cracking, but seems to come and go, and after playing for 30 mins, it seemed to be gone
Screen tearing: fixed with this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWg8q_f7nI4
The game is buggy regardless of OS, but seems to be running just as well as my Windows partition after some tweaks
Works fine, nothing special to setup and play right out of the box
Only one crash, when entering Grand Archive, seems to be a fluke, works fine upon a reboot and on subsequent playthroughts
The performance issues make it unplayable
Significantly lower FPS than on Windows. On my Windows partition, I can easily run it at 60fps on Very High, but here, it drops as low as 20 as soon as I leave the tunnels
Works just as well as on Windows
Very minor issue with fog, sometimes it will appear through walls or other objects, but seemingly only on Bogano
Runs fine, with some minor issues. Does not run Natively for some reason, had to force Proton.
Some skybox issues on water hazard, but that could just be synergy, not sure
Random spots in the game (Half Life 2) the framerates would drop below 30, which is pretty bizarre considering I can run HL2 under Proton with the same performance as native
Does not perform as well as Half Life 2 or other source games, very strange.
Missing NPC audio, fixed easily with: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%
Only had one crash in 10 hours of gameplay, which is pretty normal, even had that happen fairly often when using Windows 10
