To youtube cutscenes really disrupts game play. Maybe can tinker still with some other solution. But I actually do enjoy the game.
Cut scenes sometimes don't play at all, or start a minute into the scene. To see them, I used youtube play thoughs to view
The mouse did not work, but was 100% fine when I loaded Proton 5.4-GE custom fork.
HAD to use the mf-install prefix, with Proton 5.09 like Argent Light and Krellian said. Then it was perfect. EggRoll did not fix cutscenes
Mouse needed the Proton 5.09 and MF-Install - then it was OK. Egg Roll fixed the mouse but not the cutscenes
Bugs were cutscenes and mouse mapping - but using the MF-Install and Proton 5.09 fixed it
It took a couple of restarts to get the uplay requirement working
Uplay site seems dodgy. Set up account at ubisoft then had to restart x3.
Performance is good, Sound is perfect. Alt-tab in and out on fullscreen mode no problem. Used Proton 5.0.10 as others advised.
My list of saved games shows a corrupted autosavesave which I can't delete, but this was not one I saved, and has zero impact. The other autosaves seem OK, and loading and saving manually has no issue.
I used the 5.0.10 version of Proton as previous reviewers advised, and encountered no issues.
Game works fine again using Proton 6.3.9 including launcher. The launcher still does not work using 6.10-GE-1.
