I didnt get through the first cutscene, but audio was delayed by like, 7 seconds if not more. Was crisp though 👍
Steam controller not detected :(
CPU usage shot up to 80%. I mean i have an old CPU but i didnt think it would be this bad :D
Game crashes often, during the first cutscene, when i changed settings, when starting the first time. Didnt reach actual gameplay because it crashed so much
Well game crashes often enough to make playing it impossible
Game crashed enough times that i gave up for now and wait for patches
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Crashes seem to be windows issue as of this report. I have friends that crashes at same rate or more often than me.
As of experimental, EAC works properly. Haven't played much online however, but the little i have played ran without hiccups
Through you can run it out of the box, be sure to enable gamemode!
Used ProtonGE and had no issues, except for some minor hiuccups in some cutscenes weirdly enough.
My steam controller works for like 2 minutres then it starts to glitch out :( Probably an issue with the controller though, cant say for sure
sometimes slowdowns, dunno if its simply related to FSR or some other frame gen stuff
Runs pretty much flawlessly out of the box. Some don't have the problem I had, try the fixes I mentioned if you do.
Stuttering in cutscenes. I tried disabling e-sync, didn't help. Ran it with gamemode, and that eliminated the problem. If you have similair problems, try
gamemoderun PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Frequent crashes on Proton Experimental and/or Proton Hotfix and/or ProtonGE 9-25
Installs and runs, but crashes often (within ~15 min)
Won't launch. Says it's running for about 4 seconds then closes it stops.
Tried with Proton 5.0.9, Proton 5.9-GE-6ST (Glorious Eggroll) and the proton version others have linked, Proton 5.0.7-alyx-2
(https://github.com/stevenlafl/Proton/releases/tag/proton-5.0-7-alyx-2)
With the launch options I mentioned and tweaks others have mentioned here, red dead 2 runs well.
Used launch options others have suggested:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dxgi=n,b PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% -adapter 1 -vulkan -width 1920 -height 1080 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -cpuLoadRebalancing -ignorepipelinecache
for me, this fixed audio crackling and performance issues.
crackling fixed with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%
Using Steam Controller and pressing Left Bumper, the weapon wheel, will crash the game every time. Kind of a big deal, I can't play with my beloved steam controller.
screen tearing now and then, for a split second. not a dealbreaker for me
Crashes with ERR_GFX something. Happens after a couple of hours playing
