They didn't only kill this game by pushing you through the new incompatible EA launcher. They killed the Titanfall series as well.
Unable to launch the game due to EA forcing you through their new EA app, which doesn't allow Wine due to it being unsupported.
Don't support EA until they accept you for not being the "ideal consumer."
I think this should work just fine on 99% of linux systems. Given how little of the 4% run OpenSUSE you'll be fine most likely.
Not sure if it is just Wayland or OpenSUSE being themselves, or maybe my Nvidia card being the issue (rather the outdated drivers provided by OpenSUSE), nonetheless there is some issues with the rendering of the UI because it will flash in and out whenever you may be overlaying some information like when you're demo'ing a hero.
This is also seen in Discord so I don't think this is a common issue with most distros or implementations and mostly just my setup.
Nothing needs to be done. Install, run, and consider it done. It will tend to run in 60 because it's a Bethesda game, and their physics engine is just that bad. Other than that, it's great on linux, would recommend!
You'll need to enable the hi-res patch and set scaling to 2x before you're able to actually manipulate the window at all. Other than that, this worked flawlessly.
If you're into this game, I'd recommend it. A bit tricky to navigate at first because previous posts say you need to download necessary patchers and files, but everything is provided in the steam download now.
This is the best game EA has been involved with for debatably their entire history.
I could not replicate the issue, but going from fullscreen to windowed 1600x900 shifted the cursor in a way that made it impossible to apply any additional settings via the "Apply" button. I don't think this is Linux exclusive, but do be aware.
I began matchmaking, was eventually put into a match of Frontier and played the entire match through. All effects, all abilities, titan usage, weapons and grenades worked flawlessly. No artifacts or frame drops.
This game is amazing, and I highly recommend it.
