I played "Chrono Odyssey Playtest" and everything seems to work fine out of the box.
Without the cutscenes, the story is very hard to follow and the tinkering steps can be scary to someone who isn't familiar with the system.
Cutscenes don't work out of the box. I followed Koros1691 instructions here: https://www.protondb.com/app/462780#1SZt3q1I5K
The tinkering steps could be a lot less scary if Steam OS was shipped with cabextract by default. That way, we wouldn't need to disable Steam OS read only mode.
It took me a very long time and many many tests to figure out that I needed those command line options for the game to work properly.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV DXVK_ASYNC=1 MESA_DISK_CACHE_SINGLE_FILE=1 RADV_PERFTEST=sam,rt VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=cpu_temp,gpu_temp MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command% -dx12
The game seems to be offset by a few pixels and I lose half of the version number at the bottom of the screen.
It works great most of the time, but sometimes I get huge drop in FPS to the point where the game freezes for several seconds.
The game was crashing in the optimizing window with Proton Experimental. It may be related the driver since I had to use mesa-git for my video card (RX 7900 XT) to work.
If I dont use the command line options, the game stay stuck at 31% in the optimizing window. Once again, it may be related the driver since I had to use mesa-git for my video card (RX 7900 XT) to work.
The game works great once you figure out how to configure it properly. It's certainly not easy though.
Doesn't work with the default proton, but works fine with GE-Proton. Just ignore the warnings on startup for the Windows version and/or driver update.
gamemoderun %command% -dx12
After a while when using a mouse the game starts lagging and it never recovers. I have to restart the game. It doesn't happen with a controller nor the Steam Deck.

unset LD_PRELOAD; SteamDeck=1 gamemoderun %command%
We have to set "unset LD_PRELOAD; %command%" to avoid lags after a few matches using a mouse. It seems to be an issue with Steam Overlay.
We can't start the game without disabling the launcher on Linux. We have to set "SteamDeck=1 %command%" to disable it.
They broke their launcher on Linux when disabling it for Steam Deck in the last patch. Steam also has an issue when using a mouse that makes the game lags after a few matches. It's possible to work around those issues though and the game runs great otherwise.
The Steam version is simply broken. After a while, the game start to stutter and never recover. It needs to be restarted. Stay away from the Steam version and use Lutris to install Overwatch through Battle.net. It's not a Steam or Linux issue but clearly a bad implementation on Blizzard's part. They simply don't care about Steam. It's not the first time they broke it either.
Lots of artifacts using the Vulkan renderer over 30 fps. Somewhat better when caping to 30 fps. No artifacts using DirectX11, but performances are way worse.
Switch from full screen to windowed when using Alt+Tab.
Frequent stuttering and sometimes freezing when using DirectX11.
Lots of stuttering and some freezing when there are many mobs/players.
If the Vulkan renderer was working correctly, the game would be perfectly playable. But considering I have to choose between visual artifacts with Vulkan and lags with DirectX11, it's not quite playable yet.
Works great when you are the host. I tried one quick game and I didn't have any issue. I need to do more tests.
I used the bypass launcher, otherwise the game fail to start correctly.
