It works fine. There's nothing wrong with it.
There's some minor screen tearing. But I'm running without compositing, so it's to be expected.
If your mouse isn't an issue, this game should run perfectly.
If you have a mouse with a polling rate of ~1000Hz (1ms) or higher, the game will actually lock up when you move your mouse until you stop. It apparently prioritizes input events over rendering. You can fix this by adjusting your global mouse poll rate, but if your mouse is actually offering 1000Hz, it's probably configurable, so you can instead use a tool like libratbag and piper if they support your mouse. Bringing your mouse back down to 500Hz should fix any issues.
The aforementioned mouse polling issue.
Once you've capped the framrate, it's basically indistinguishable from windows.
The game runs too damn fast. This is a bug in the windows version too, it's not a Linux thing. Go to [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
in DeusEx.ini
and add FrameRateLimit=60
. Then just run the game in OpenGL mode and it'll work perfectly.
Works... Anticlimactic really.
Antialiasing at or above 4 causes extreme graphical artifacts. This might be an issue with my system or something.
Make sure you use 5.13: Earlier versions of proton have rather nasty bugs with this title.
It runs just fine. Or... well, the same. Bad port, performance good, perfectly playable, so long as you use latest GE.
