frequent crashes but otherwise playable (disable v-sync to fix/reduce stuttering)
the game tends to crash with no discernible cause. the error message given always states the issue was access violation and searching online I've seen people saying that disabling rtx fixes it and it might help for you but i haven't found any success with it. if you don't find a solution for this expect to crash once or twice per hour of game time.
standard proton and protonGE don't work but there was an update to proton experimental that allows the game to launch. all the reviews older than this one were made before that was fixed
aside from minor ps5 controller touchpad weirdness the game worked perfectly first try.
when using a ps5 controller the game maps the button to open the map screen to the touchpad and this cannot be changed. on linux the touchpad of a ps5 controller acts like a laptop touchpad so tapping it is a left click which does not open the map in game. I used steam input to map the share button to a touchpad press input to get around that.
the game works but only in windowed mode
the issue with the zero byte install with no files that cant run has been resolved but the game starts in widowed mode and experiences extreme graphical issues if you resize the window or try to put it in fullscreen. if you want to play in windowed mode the linux version is perfectly playable. trying to use the windows version with proton simply does not launch.
after the tech update the game no longer launches. ive tried various versions of proton but none worked.
the turtle update did not change this.
gameplay is perfectly fine. sometimes the menu is weird but restarting the game fixes it
occasional misshapen menu buttons
while the game is in fullscreen steam notifications can cause some minor graphical bugs
on first launch the eula screen got stuck but the problem was fixed on restart. the main menu can get stuck requiring a restart
game seems to work but displays nothing
based on the sounds that can be heard the game seems to launch and run properly but it displays nothing but a black screen and does not seem to respond to inputs
