After using Alt+Tab the main menu is non-responsive, meaning you cannot click on anything, making the game unplayable, you have to close it and start again.
To get the game run, you have to delete "AlterEgo.exe" and rename "RunDev.exe" to "AlterEgo.exe" in the game's main directory. Starting the game will open a file selection window and you have to double click on "AlterEgo.ebr". This issue is apparently present on Windows as well.
It works, but it has an engine level issue which needs a workaround.
You have to cap the framerate to 60fps, because higher framerate causes the player movement to be "slippery", which is not intended and makes the game a bit difficult to play. The game itself does not have an option for framerate capping, so in my case I used libstrangle (https://gitlab.com/torkel104/libstrangle), after that the game ran flawlessly.

Works without any issues, but it also has an excellent native port.
Works without any issues.
Apart from the fullscreen issue, it works.
Turning on fullscreen makes the game unplayable, only the bottom left corner of the screen is visible.

I had to install .NET Framework 3.5 and XNA 3.1 libraries through protontricks: protontricks 42910 dotnet35sp1 xna31
Works without any issues.
Now with Proton 5.0 released, D9VK is enabled by default, so there are no more framerate issues. It works out-of-the-box, no additional steps needed.
Played it all the way to the end, without a single issue.
Intro and outro videos are not working at the moment with current Proton, but with proton-ge 6.1, video playback is woriking, so I guess when Proton 6.0 releases, it will be fixed.
Works without an issue.
There is also a non-advertised, native Linux version of the game, which only has a small issue with fullscreen mode on multi-monitor setup, so you have to run it in windowed mode.
Works without any significant issues.
With fullscreen on, the game does not let you use Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, Super key and media keys.
If you have V-Sync on and have a monitor with a refresh rate higher than 60hz, the game speeds up, and makes it barely playable. Switching off V-Sync drops it to 60fps, and it's playable again.
