Very rare minor artifacts.
Game crashes if you alt-tab, move focus, or let your computer lock.
Had to add a few commands in the launch options, as others have mentioned, but it runs flawlessly otherwise using GE's Custom Proton. I'm getting well over 100+ FPS on max settings at 3440x1440 resolution; it performs better than Windows.
I also launch this through Lutris and not Steam for a few additional tweaks I make to most games, but they're not essential to Doom Eternal. The tweaks are setting a shader cache path, setting the cache size to unlimited, and activating Feral GameMode.
Also, I tried 5.0.9 from SteamPlay directly without tweaks, but it ran at an abysmal frame rate for me and still needed the additional launch option commands.
Game works flawlessly after changing input to Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad. Set controller to Xinput in the Final Fantasy XI configuration.

Runs flawlessly using GE's Custom Proton. Both DirectX 11 through DXVK and the Vulkan beta work, but Vulkan provided an overall better experience. DXVK had overall higher frame rates, but suffered from rare and sudden occasional frame drops, whereas Vulkan had a lower average, but had no drops. There was some pop in of textures using the Vulkan API, but this happens on Windows as well; they go away once the textures are loaded. This worked fine launching from Steam, but I use Lutris for a few additional tweaks that are not essential. The tweaks are setting a shader cache path, setting the cache size to unlimited, and activating Feral GameMode.
Game runs great using SteamPlay!
As others have explained, your character is missing on the main menu, but it works flawlessly otherwise.
I also launch this through Lutris and not Steam for a few additional tweaks I make to most games, but they're not essential. The tweaks are setting a shader cache path, setting the cache size to unlimited, and activating Feral GameMode.
Works perfectly on SteamPlay!
Game runs just as well through SteamPlay as it does on Windows, if not better!
Had to add the command taskset -c 0,2,4,6 %command% in the launch options to improve frame rate on my 8 core 16 thread system, but I've had no issues otherwise; this is something specific to higher core count machines. I'm usually getting 60+ FPS at 3440x1440, but there were some dips into the lower 50s upper 40s intermittently. Game definitely has a higher frame rate on Windows, but it's perfectly playable on Linux. I also launch this through Lutris and not Steam for a few additional tweaks I make to most games, but they're not essential. The tweaks are setting a shader cache path, setting the cache size to unlimited, and activating Feral GameMode.
