EA removed linux support
it's a really bad move by EA and I hope that now, not more big companys try to drop linux support or ban it even
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650" %command% -fulscreen
Did not work with my screen somehow, just couldn't adapt to the aspect ratio
It ran really bad at least for me, could not play that long because it crashed quite often
added this to try fixing the mouse
uset r_mode_height "1080"
uset r_mode_width "1920"
A lot
Windows just switch around sometimes
Mouse does not work for me
-fulscreen
Had to force it with launch options
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650" %command%
My graphics card didn't handle the game too well
I needed to force the game to use my graphics card, when I tried it without it, I was playing on 5 FPS all the time. Now the performance is better at around 40 - 50 FPS, but only with foliage, grass etc. on LOW DLSS on performance mode and everything else on MEDIUM or LOW
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dstorage, dstoragecore=n; d3dcompiler_47=n; dxgi=n, b" %command%
Some problems on first startup that magically fixed themselves
This game works really well when using. For all the people that are playing this game and want to make it look better I have some recomendations for you that worked perfectly fine on linux so far:
Modding Tips and Tricks plus some Advise
Using ReShade and a Monster Hunter Wilds ReShade Preset:
It really makes the game look much better and improves color grading. To install you have to use a third-party script that I linked here. The installation is really easy and only takes around 5 minutes maximum.
You will also need to add follwing launch options for it to function properly:
> WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n; dxgi=n, b" %command%
Using DirectStorage 1.2.3 Files:
If you also want to fix stutters then you might want to use the direct storage upgrade that you can find on NexusMods. Be careful with that because it crashed my PC multible times and only after some digging I found a solution that someone posted. You have to place your old 1.2.2 files from the game in this folder and the new ones in the game folder.:
> /home/<YOUR USERNAME>/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2246340/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32
You also need to add the following launch options that I also mentioned below:
> WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dstorage,dstoragecore=n,b" %command%
Advise for Lower Hardware
If your Hardware is not the best (you have less than 12GB of VRAM) you should probably not play this game. Many benchmarkers come to the same conclusion that this game is currently a borken mess (graphically) and needs some updates to fix these issues. Refer to the videos from DigitalFoundry for more information
I also had a friend of mine test the game on his pretty old computer and he ran it with 8 FPS on lowest settings. We also tried modding his game with performance imporvements but that only brought it to an average of 10 - 15 which is still almost completely unplayable, so you should wait or be ok with low FPS, stuttering etc.
I hope this was helpfull to some, it's a lot of text and Im not an native english speaker so I hope the grammar is ok. Have a nice day
Because everything worked fine I think a typical gamer with a pc that can run games on higher quality would enjoy it pretty much
I reset the games config files and tested everything and looked for the setting that broke it. I found out that the crashes would occur when I set Graphics API to force Vulkan so I set it to auto which workes fine for me
My Hardware is not the best so it even lags on windows on lowest settings
gamemoderun __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
Was really bad at times
Definitly had a lot of audio problems, no visuals, just audio
gamemoderun __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
Generally during loading and in the main menu
Bad hardware ig.
