Works right out of the box, dxvk solves games performance issues on windows
It's very common for people playing borderlands 2 on windows to use dxvk to improve the framerate and stability, expect 200fps or more coming from windows with the right hardware. The difference on linux is that your shaders are pre loaded so you can easily avoid initial compilation stuttering, easily a better experience than native windows. Also avoid native linux it's horribly outdated like most native ports
Really this is a great game on steam deck and one of my favorites, perfect for bringing around and playing and works great out of the box
Certain controls such as stick click needed to be enabled with the official layout
The warframe launcher is required to play the game, important things to note is that if enhanced renderer, dx12 or fullscreen is enabled in the launcher the game will not start and steamos will reload itself
The game will struggle to hold 60 in end game content with busy scenes, with other players in your game especially, expects drops on almost all settings to 45 and potentially lower but these are thankfully usually 1% lows
Everything worked great
Just keep in mind that it won't hold 60fps 100% of the time and keeping on most eye candy at medium settings works quite well, very enjoyable experience overall. I only hope that perhaps with the work of the devs or newer versions of proton we can get dx12 to work, I suspect it will have a good impact on helping the game hold a constant 60fps. Steams default proton build works just fine as well for an out of the box experience, though GE has given me better performance in some scenarios. Other than that, it works great, have fun tenno!
%command% gamemode
Coming from Windows for the first time and the game runs exceptionally well on Linux. Some areas saw lower GPU utilization and increased framerates in comparison. Game does take a couple seconds when ALT+TABbing and launcher is a little finnicky with some elements blanking out, not a big deal. DX12 is recommended from me, much more stable framerate in CPU bound scenarios (which is the majority of the time) have fun tenno!
