While the voice audio is very quiet to almost inaudible, all conversations have subtitles, so you do not miss any information
The voice and effects audio is a lot quieter than the music audio.
I first tried this mode in Proton Experimental, but then I couldn't get the "calls" to work (no video).
After selecting which remaster in the launcher, I get a flash of black screen and then the Petroglyph Error dialog.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 gamemoderun %command% NOSPLASHPRELOAD
Error log mentions an error: err:winediag:load_odbc failed to open library "libodbc.so"
Got as far as the launcher. Got a "failed to initialize graphics adapter" after that.
PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1
Unable to go higher than 24 FPS, but GPU sits around 64% and CPU around 30%
The game seems to hang the gpu driver whenever you refuse to pay tribute to the attacking tribe
I am using Proton 7 through Heroic (I also have the Pulse Audio fix set and gamemode).
gamemoderun %command%
I assume the previous reports where for the early access game. I have no issues.
Text is borked. Tried the vcrun2017 trick with both protontricks and winetricks, but it doesn't fix anything for me.
gamemoderun %command%
Played through the first chapter and the start of the second chapter (+- 45 mins). Didn't notice any issues.

Initially, fullscreen isn't really fullscreen and has a thin white border around the window.
If I play long enough, it will hard crash to desktop.
Up until the CTD it runs near-flawless (as good as on Windows). But I cannot solve the CTD. I even switched from Arch+Wayland to a fresh install of OpenSUSE+X11 KDE and the crash still happens.
I used Proton-6.8-GE-1. Cutscenes worked flawlessly as did both 16:9 and 32:9 resolutions
Throws a missing texture error, but the file is there in the expected folder.
I tried running in lutris with a GE'd up wine runner.
Game now runs using latest non-GE proton, but after I set the game to windowed mode and restarted it, no cursor is showing
Added gamemoderun %command%
to the startup options
I was able to start playing once on the latest Proton GE.
But the second time, the windowing seems to go wrong and it is all off center to the right. I also cannot seem to toggle between full screen and windowed mode.
The latest update seems to have fixed the windowing bug. I have played both the windows version and Steam play version.
Proton-6.14-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Every now and then the screen has a black flicker/noise in it. I think this is a drawing conflict with the desktop notifications.
There is a bug at the end of the prologue where you can't continue. The only way I have found to continue is to quit to the main menu, hit restart on the save game and skip the prologue before starting a new game in the same slot.
Game starts, black window appears and then game crashes
gamemoderun %command%
Does not work
At the first start the cursor won't move through the entire window. Press Alt+Enter to go into windowed mode until you are in the menu. After that, select either windowed or windowed full screen in the settings.
On my system, using DXVK, I locked the framerate to 60 FPS and it was almost rock solid, short of some parts in the opening sequence, where I could see the main menu for some frames during gameplay.
Using WINED3D gave me very glitchy graphics and single digit FPS numbers.
Proton-7.1-GE-2
Extra modification: I used gamemoderun %command%
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Use GE Proton to make cutscenes/movies work. Game runs fine and I had no performance issues.
gamemoderun %command%
When in borderless, I don't see any effect when changing the resolution.
If you like immersive sims or the old system shock games, this is a great retelling of the original!
Locks up right after showing the Yager logo

Not playable.

The game crashes most of the time when Alt+tabbing out. This happens both in windowed and fullscreen mode (I suspect the fullscreen is really windowed fullscreen).
Framerate often drops to 30 fps when scrolling the map. This might be due to early access though.
The first time I booted it, it crashed almost immediately during the tutorial. However, I played through the tutorial on windows and then switched back to linux and it has been crash free since (other than when alt+tabbing out).
Definitely needs some more love, but it's early days for the game. As far as I can tell, the existing gameplay is accessible when running with GE Proton.
Full screen showed in a small window in the top left, but this may be due to Wayland
Started through Lutris by installing Ubi Connect and then Breakpoint. Make sure to run the Vulkan version from Ubi Connect, or you will get a DirectX error.
And I followed these instructions: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6471#issuecomment-1400954739
Game gets stuck when clicking continue/new game on the loading screen. Probably EAC related.
Currently unplayable due to EAC, but the devs are working on SteamDeck support, so it's only a matter of time.
