Customized abilities to buttons and used the left Joystick for movement
If you want to, customize the controls a bit for your liking. I only started changing things after 3 hours of playing with the default controls.
Battery lasts forever with this game.
I set FPS to Max 40, TDP limit of 9 Watts
Tried all the different protons I had and every time I get a popup saying it's not supported on the Steam Deck.
Also tried Proton Experimental and Proton GE 8.3
Not supported as of this moment
FPS drops on cutscenes (pre/post race + podium celebrations)
Graphics can be increased to Medium as there is no big difference with the battery life. Stable 40FPS (my limit) during races. TDP could be lowered to furthered improve battery life if needed.
Besides some FPS drops during cutscenes, no issues since the update on June 14th.
Tried oder proton versions (experimental, GE)
Game is no longer supported on the Steam Deck due to having EA anti-cheat now.
Only changes I made was set it to 40hz/40fps, but even on default 60fps the battery lasts a good while
I did not install face/team packs on the Deck, but I downloaded and applied the real team names/Germany/latest player DB files/etc. without any issue. Everything works perfectly, as expected. I use the touchpads and the triggers for everything and the only "annoying" part is when you want to search for players/teams if you don't use a keyboard, but it's really a minor thing and using the Deck just takes a bit longer to type.
It doesn't look very good but it is still very enjoyable. Keeping the settings low will reduce the amount of crashes a lot.
Lowered TDP, refresh rate and FPS
Sometimes text was a bit small
The quality of the textures didn't look that good, setting the quality higher could cause crashes
Sometimes the game would freeze and crash
Playing in normal mode or docked with a mouse, both are enjoyable.
I had a great time playing this on the Steam Deck, no problems at all.
Lowered the TDP and capped FPS at 40 like I do for most games, battery life is around 2-3 hours for the OG LCD Deck. Settings untouched.
The game runs very smooth and looks beautiful. It has Steam Deck recommended settings that are enabled by default and work really well. I like to play my metroidvania games on the Deck and was hoping it was optimized and I'm not dissappointed at all. No EA app launcher either and I can play in offline mode.
Great game for the Deck, after changing the control layout it was a very pleasant experience. No concerns at all with the battery usage.
Changed the controller layout to the recommended community one
Had to assign F7 to a back grip button to change the language of the game
