The game was running smoothly at +144FPS on my 144hz screen with no issues through out all the stage 1 + bonus level.
Game runs fine and super fast. I recommend vkBassalt to see if there is any improvement on textures as the game has aged a bit.
FPS capped at 60
The game ran butter smooth, no slow downs as other people reported in my case.
The game is locked at 60 FPS and screen resolution to maximum 1080p, but not because of proton. Everything looked perfect on my 1440p 144hz screen.
You can play it without problems using proton ge. I've used proton 6.16 ge to be exact.
Proton can't handle the cinematics on this game. I had to use proton GE.
Under normal proton it may work but every time the game plays a cinematic the screen goes black. Installing mf-install did't fix the problem for me, it went from coloured strips on the screen to a black screen, skipping the cinematic the game played well.
Proton worked just as smooth as native, both capped at 60 FPS.
Native works fine, just go windowed mode then go back to full screen and it will run fine.
Nothing bad to report, the game ran at 144hz, looking good and playing smoothly.
Only once, I was getting hit and sent away but I would reappear next to the bully instead of the location where I felt. But I guess that is on the developers, not a proton problem.
Game crashed once, but I don't know if it was my fault pressing buttons or proton.
This is a very light game, I didn't feel any difference between native and the proton version.
The game is both available as native and can be forced to run on proton as well.
Game runs at 4:3 ratio jsut because it's a bit old. Other than that, it works flawlessly.
Worked perfectly on proton 6.3-6
Didn't work on experimental and it didn't work on proton 6.16 ge
The game runs perfectly on Proton 6.3-6.
It didn't work with Proton 6.16 ge, didn't work on experimental either.
Worked perfectly on proton 6.3-6.
Doesn't work on experimental, and it didn't work on proton 6.16 ge.
Worked perfectly both native and under proton. This is not a demanding game anyways.
The game ran perfectly, but I did have to use a WINEPREFIX to pfx to fix a problem with the resolution.
Needs to be run to avoid black bars on resolutions higher than 1080p:
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/499890/pfx/ winecfg
Enable: Emulate a virtual desktop and set your resolution.
The game runs perfectly, but I had to randomly jump between resolutions until I didn't have black bars on my screen.
The game set at my native resolution had vertical black bars. For some reason, setting the resolution to 2048x1152 instead of my 1440p fixed the issue and the screen looked normal. Perhaps a problem on the games code swapping resolutions.
The game worked better under proton than native.
Native: Activating vsync was locked to 60 instead of 144 to match my screen, and I had to set resolution to 2048x1152 instead of my native 1440p to avoid black bars. These problems disappeared running under proton.
Game works perfectly. There is an error on the start and title screen, it does not affect the game itself and it is easily fixable.
In order to fix the opening and title screens you need to install Windows Media Player 11. To do that you just need to use winetricks on the game's wine prefix:
WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/318020/pfx/ winetricks
Once the Winetricks Windows pop up press OK on "Select the default wineprefix"
Choose "Install a Windows DLL or component".
Install "wmp11" (Windows Media Player 11) from the list.
Close Winetricks and launch your game with no errors on the cinematic nor on the title screen :)
The game ran better on proton than native.
Not that you need FPS on this game, but it went up to 144FPS on proton and it was locked at 60 native. Also the first sheet you click on native changes the frame size of the screen, that doesn't happen on proton. I clicked other objects on native and didn't see the same bug.
