Did get disconnected from a game randomly, but I was able to restart with no issue. The first time I ran, I had to switch to a different region, then switch back to the proper region in order to connect to a game
This process took some time, but was well worth it. Follow Igor's instructions and it will work fine.
This was a rather complex process. First, I installed and ran Arma 2 and Arma 2:operation arrowhead (Make sure to enable all add-ons in operation arrowhead). After both games are installed and have been ran, copy the add-ons folder from Arma 2 into Arma 2:Operation Arrowhead in your steam root. Once you do that, you can go into the game and enable all add-ons, and the game should work
Works great with proton out of the box, not extra steps required
Occasional FPS drop/slow loading but, to be fair, you could also contribute that to the game being in alpha.
Follow instructions from reddit link listed by Spook013 and the game works without an issue. Did not need to set launch options to run.
