Game isn't ready for play if a 6900 isn't strong enough, optimization is a must before launch
gamemoderun RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command%
When facing the metal bars on the preview level FPS drops from 110 to 21, both with and without RADV, this game needs significant optimization if the highest end gpu isn't enough
Wait for it to be free, or under $5
Install MESA-GIT/AMD-Vulkan and you'll go perfect.
Normally run my main machine on Arch, but this testing was done in Pop_OS w/o gamemode enabled and ran perfectly for upwards of 10 hours, legit only issue I've had is with poor optimization of the title overall (Same on Windows) and couldn't turn on the radio.
Runs Great IF YOU INSTALL MESA-GIT / VULKAN API, ELSEWISE ALL BLACK TEXTURES
No Radio
Usually run Arch, though this testing is done in Pop_OS, and has ran perfectly for upwards of 22 hours, legitimately the only consistent issue I've had is with poor optimization of the title overall (Same on Windows), and wasn't able to hear the radio, but with AMD's DLSS equivalent running at 1800p on the 5700, it gets a solid 40-70fps on high settings. Also, if you're experiencing black textures and missed both my title and others saying, the reason is that you don't have mesa git and the vulkan api for your respective GPU, we all have that issue until those are installed, as they are necessary pre requisites for running a DX12 title through DXVK. The game is an utterly amazing testimate to open world titles like Saints row, and is as if merged with equally amazing RPG's like Deus Ex, with the story of Ghost in the Shell + Johnny Silverhand. All in all, this game is not "Silver", people just need to research before buying.
Game runs great (IF BLACK TEXTURES INSTALL MESA-GIT / VULKAN API), been playing since launch
gamemoderun RADV_PERFTEST=aco gamescope -f -U -w 2560 -h 1440 -W 3840 -H 2160 -- %command%
Physics feels better on this latest release, more content is good as the game is already loaded with content, and now that the Pop-in/despawn/never spawning/audio problems of the first 2 patches have been resolved by seemingly stripping out the ps4 enforced code, they can begin working on making the immersion breaking bugs fixed rather than pretending to fix major things like water and police while realisitically having done nothing. On a 6900 the game only gets about 45fps under proton at 4k ultra, but placing the game at 1440p with gamescope that bumps up to a solid 70 to 90fps, which is more than playable. Only current major bugs are hat being necessary to see hair, except in the menu where you change its appearance, and sharing screen with gamescope on discord causing the physics to get super slippery.
Runs great for 7.0rc6-GE-1 and 7.2-GE-1 (7.3 / Experimental don't work) Error at launch, just click ok. INSTALL MESA-GET / VAAPI
gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
Been playing since launch, as the title says, if you get black textures make sure to install MESA-GIT at the very least, this'll fix that.
Patch 1.5 now joins the Launch version by fixing Pop-in/despawn/never spawning/audio problems of the first 2 subsequent patches. they can begin working on making the immersion breaking bugs fixed rather than pretending to fix major things like water and police while realisitically having done nothing.

Game still performs similar to games like Cyberpunk even with the loss to performance through Proton, and is honestly at times prettier.

Crackling only in the startup video on 7.0-GE-RC6, fixed on newer releases of proton GE
Compared to Windows users on Youtube, with the same GPU/Settings/Resolution, I experienced about 30 to 40fps lower performance in DX11, slightly more in DX12.
Works on 7.2-GE, and 7.0-RC6 GE, Experimental and 7.14/7.16 didn't work for me. SSGI and SSAO both work great out of box, likely due to better MESA support than Nvidia users have reported.
Game/Videos can play, only shows about 2 seconds of the game before crashing, every time, on every Proton/GE I've tried.
Completely borked
gamemoderun %command% -nolauncher
A white blocky artefacting happens on the edge of lighting at night time after the first mission
Might be worth looking into GE for this title or various launch commands to remove the artifacting at night, but otherwise the game is gorgeous and runs just as good as windows with more consistent framerate.
