The game tends to hickup. The launch options helps, but the game is not enjoyable to play. It's doable, but not enjoyable.
Some versions of Proton (older than 5) gave delayed audio, that eventually crashed the game.
Make sure you disable Dx11
When a new area is loading-in, when in-map, the games freezes up.
I tried https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom, but it just make the experience worse than the default Proton 5. More so with the launch options I added.
The game won't close properly using the in-game menus. Just kill the process with your System/Task Monitor.
Works perfectly.
Beat the original game, and working through the DLC. Everything has worked flawlessly, with no issue. No tinkers, or changes to Proton version needed.
The game crashed every 1-5 minutes. Before even reaching the lumberyard, I got about 10 crashes.
The game just doesn't work for me. I tried switching DirectX modes, via Command Options, trying Proton Experimental, and GE-Proton 15, with no luck. The out of the box experience crashed the moment I started walking.

Since the last report, I got the game to run, and actually work (mostly) flawlessly, by going back to x11, and not using Wayland. All the game crashes were seemingly caused by xWayland.
Because Fedora 40 (thus Nobara) no longer ships x11, by default, you need to install it. As I use KDE, I had to install the package "plasma-workspace-x11", log out of the system, change to "Plasma (11)" (at the bottom left of the lock screen), and run the game in this legacy mode.
