Initial audio loads, no video - black screen only
Loading with Proton Experimental, multiple attempts
Black screen after Play button with Proton Experimental, 6.21-GE-2, and 6.3-8, unplayable
Same issues as the previous report despite changing compatibility tools - a black screen populates with the typical Night City radio audio you'd usually hear, but that's it - the rest of the game never loads.
Inability to close the screen after using ALT-TAB. Had to press the WIN key (running on PC laptop) to access the failed screen to close out. I'm new to Ubuntu/Linux so not sure if that note is relevant.
Game has no other mods. Worked previously on Win10 at high graphic settings, but performance suffered greatly after Win11 patching to nigh unplayable (significant FPS drops in busy areas, when in heavy combat, and audio would sometimes stutter and static to a crawl) so now testing in Ubuntu.
Far more laggy than I was accustomed to running GD on Win10 with this same laptop - became quite bogged down even on low-med video qual when encountering more than about 20 mobs (which, as we know in Grim Dawn, happens frequently) but remained playable
Worked perfectly both native and with forced compatibility test of Proton Experimental
Works just as well in Ubuntu as it has in Win10/Win11 despite the age of the game
