When running Native, I had a game freeze early on in the tutorial. So I forced the game to run on Proton 9.0-4 and got past that point.
LD_PRELOAD="radv_force_pstate_peak_gfx11_dgpu=false -force-vulkan -USEALLAVAILABLECORES" %command%
LD_Preload and these other commands are my catch-all solution. I don't know which performance issues it had, I just inserted all of these commands so I don't have to tinker. Before these commands, the game ran very poorly and even crashed on launching. I'm using Proton 9.0-4, older versions did not work.
radv_force_pstate_peak_gfx11_dgpu=false -force-vulkan -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
fullscreen was causing issues upon re-launching the game so I leave it Windowed Borderless
game will allow my mouse outside of the game window
I have the RDNA3 bug and entered the radv command into my etc/environment file. I also updated my BIOS which has bugfixes for this bug.
Launches to a black screen
The start screen doesn't fully load, then I hit PLAY and load into a black screen. I've tried a few common fixes, different Proton versions, and some launch options posted here.
Works on Proton 7.0.6 BUT - Cannot connect to Steam network
"ERROR: Cannot connect to Steam Network. Check your internet connection and run your Steam Client in Online Mode." I feel like I might be able to play this silly game soon. IDK what's causing this error though. I turned off and on Steam Cloud Sync. Maybe it's the Proton Easy anti-cheat? I am in steam online mode and can play other online games just fine.
Experiencing significant decrease in performance, where graphics card is working at near maximum even after lowering settings from high-ultra (everything on except RTX) down to medium.
I was running this game on Nobara 38, but skipped updating Nobara and jumped over to Fedora, so perhaps there is more optimization I need to do for games to run as well as they did on Nobara.
I thought it was the current update's reported issue with memory leakage.
Framerate dropped to low FPS beginning around the 40 minute mark, then staying in bad performance until I restart the game. I think that's because my graphics card usage was pegged at 100% and I was unaware, then turned down settings.
I'm pretty certain there is more I can do to allevate the issues I'm having.
Before tinkering I would just relaunch the game in-between matches, now with the tinker step I don't have to.
LD_PRELOAD="" %command%
The Preload bug is a bug with Steam on Linux and it makes games start stuttering after 25 - 45 minutes on gameplay. It often affects Unreal Engine games. I run the game with this command, but the bug may have been fixed with the newest Steam version.
