Set to 8.0-5 (reinstall). Don't forget your UPLAY login.
I forgot my UPLAY login from years back and no longer have access to the email it's attached to - that's on me - but I could not get around this issue. Even though I bought the game and was playing the game digitally on steam the CDKEY was tied to the old account. Strangely sometimes the game would start and UPLAY would autolog me into my original account allowing me to play. Very inconsistent. BUT the game itself was buggy when run on experimental so I had to switch to 8.0-5, which required uninstalling and reinstalling the game completely. It did work great the one time I got to play. The next time after that however it wouldn't let me past the UPLAY login because you know, I don't have my login from years back. Whomp whomp.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11
Game launches on wrong (secondary) monitor but I can drag it to correct monitor after launch. Can also be fixed by changing monitor order or unplugging secondary monitor.
Game was stable until caspian level then would frequently crash. Was able to fix by disabling steam overlay and adding "VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11" to launch options.
Fantastic game. Definitely recommend.
Worked perfectly first time but every attempted load after has game trying to open on my secondary (left) monitor and then crashing.
The first time I played Sunless Sea launched issue-free onto my primary monitor. Haven't been able to get it to work again since. The game crashes (occasionally a blank screen and music will be heard first). When it crashes it causes the desktop to crash as well with the error "something went wrong" and the option the "log out" but the screen becomes so locked up it's impossible to do anything but a hard reboot. I've tried reinstalling, deleting files, various proton versions, verifying game files. At this point I've given up. I'm tired of rebooting my computer. The work arounds I've found are to unplug my secondary monitor or competely change my setup but I'm not doing that for one game. The problem seems to be the game wants to open at point 0,0 which is cauing all my issues.
-vulkan
Occasionally Vulkan misbehaves by currupting the config files and DirectX loads instead in a permanent forced state. DirectX is clippy and slow. Fixed by going into the CompatData for the game and deleting the Appdata\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\
