While I have not (yet) had an opportunity to run a multiplayer match, the campaigns are stable, once the movies folder is renamed
Rename the resources/_common/movies folder to movies-disabled
during mission boot up it lagged a bit
An Alternative method to get the game running if one is uncomfortable with modifying folders/files
Making .WMV files open via VLC by default side steps the need to rename folder
Art of War mode is unusable, either by renaming folder OR making .WMV file use VLC by default.
Even using GE, game presents a black screen.
just using GE alone doesn't seem to get the game to run. Used both Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST and Proton-5.11-GE-2-MF
"I can't believe it's not Native"™. joking aside, the game runs flawlessly. I found no issues in play, both in single or multiplayer modes.
Bear in mind I have not tested the duel-ing mode (nor have any intention of doing so)
Minor quibbles but otherwise ran smoothly
most crackling occurred in the menus and loading screens but overall was only occasional.
Gamma adjust menu seemed to be bugged (it would not show much change if any in menu, but would radically change gamma in-game). occasional missing models occurred.
If one wanted to hate themselves, this game does work without Linux related issues.
Game works virtually flawlessly. Even allows modding!
game works completely out of the box, and mods work without any issues (assuming you link via game location)
has slight issues, but otherwise is an enjoyable experience
Suffered one loss of texture/models
game froze once
the fabricators became unusable once, lostt player models (guns/wrench were invisible)
Can have minor hiccups, recommend saving anytime you need to enter/leave space (this is where my problems started)
EAC seems to be used by ALL servers now.
if ANY servers are running without EAC on, as a Linux user you would be (in theory) able to connect, you would just have know the IP/Port and manually connect via the command-line in game (F1 key by default). alas, the last few times I tried to find a game, every server I found an IP/port for that said were not running EAC had either fell off the map or WERE running EAC.

had to perform the following to circumvent errors other were getting: install Wine/Proton Tricks Via ProtonTricks complete the Following: Install DotNET4.5.2 Install VCRUN2013 Install XNA4 Install D9VK (latest) Set Win mode to WIN7 with this I get the following as an warning/error: Warning CPU Exception: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {4590F811-1D3A-11D0-891F-00AA004B2E24} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG). I've gotten to a black screen both with Proton 5.0.9 AND 5.11-GE-2-mf hopefully this helps those of you willing to delve into regedit/ custom software additions.
